You see things vacationing on a motorcycle in a way that is completely different from any other. In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame. ~Robert Pirsig

    1. Considering your height and weight Bajaj Avenger looks a good option for you but you have to compromise a bit on mileage.
    2. Bajaj Pulsar 200NS- I think this bike perfectly fits under your requirement(stylish, sporty, very good performance, good mileage and under 1 lakh bracket).
    3. If you can extend your budget a bit you can also go for HONDA CBR150R which is also a very good bike.
Take a test ride of bikes you prefer which will clear most of your doubts and then decide.

      Hey there..
Do this, make a list of bikes that members here recommend you and take a Test-Ride of all of them. Since you are on the heavier side (no offense meant), not all bike would be comfortable.
I had a friend who was also on that side, he would get very uncomfortable riding sports bikes. But you would know better for yourself.
Try Avenger or any naked bike.

      Ride safe and have fun.

Pulsar 200NS seems like a decent buy for your requirements.

          Go for P200NS/Apache180rtr(ABS)/P220/.
My advice would be to not go with sporty bikes like CBR150/R15 due to your physique.
Take a test ride and decide.

Shell out extra 15 K and go for Karizma ZMR for below reasons:

            1. Daily commute can be on and avg 40 KM +, ZMR should return decent FE read as avg of 42 to 46 kmpl if you ride it sanely.
            2. ZMR has decent space to accommodate your bodyframe with decent power.
            3. Comfy seats with upright sitting posture though it is not that 90 degree upright as commute bike but either it is not sporty as sports bikes, which will certainly helpful for your daily commute and short ride/trips.
            4. It is is fill it, shut it and go kind of motorcycle, you can visit to ZMR ownership thread for more reviews: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...-zmr-1265.html

You can also have a look at P220 which will serve your purpose, would advice to TD both these bikes and make your decision.

No offence meant but as you've mentioned you are on the heavier side i would recommend you to stay away from sportier sitting posture bikes to avoid back pain, making yourself comfortable/ adjustable on these sporty bikes are different story and being sitting on comfortable/ relaxed bike is another one.

Extend your budget and go for the NS or the ZMR. I bought the zmr for the same reason as you are now going to buy. College commute with highway rides and city rides too. You can get used to the bike within a week and ride it effortlessly in traffic too. Gives you around 47-50kmpl on highways and 40-45kmpl within cities.
Take a TD and you'll love the comfort it offers for both the pillion and rider.
When it comes to NS, comfort is not as much as the karizma (obviously) but performance is good. Karizmas are known for relaxed touring and if you are the kind that wishes to flip around in traffic and have good pick-up, then go for NS.
