  • cant decide on anything

ok first up, i have a Honda Dio 2010, and i had removed all the extras and fitted with K&N Filter, giving me the best ever feel.
Very good pickup and decent mileage. like only true Dio owners will understand, when i say i had the best dio.. bending at 65-70 kmph....70 degree etc... always mad riding.. so right now i have finally had the chance to upgrade, its been three years. So the main problem am facing is that i cannot decide on the bike, because the budget is slightly tight, am 21 and i dont want my parents to be spending so much more on me. So first i decided after long thinking that Avenger 220 would do well, for my agressive and careless riding style.. like i tried out my friend's avenger many times.. ripping and bending mainly being my thing, it was gr8, but no bending over 60deg, inside city, means no bending over 60kmph, given +-5% ..actually when i saw Duke 200, i really wanted that only, for sure, but then that time i couldn't and now its too common. My dad told me now to buy Royal Enfield 350 but i am pretty sure that would not be the bike for me, but my dad feels that having a bullet would make me more structured, maybe so, i agree. but i think i should get to have me fair share of performance bikes before i settle, im 22 in 4months. my dad is like your growing up.. but apart from that, i also saw KTM RC 200, i think that will be good too, for me, and also 200ns would be a good budget resort... but i need help now to finalise. follow the dad or buy a performance bike or budget bike, because i should be getting job or going for GRE and MS by next year.. thats also there...no one will use my bike if am not there, making it totally useless. Also, i have my eyes on the upcoming bikes Hero, etc..

    Re: cant decide on anything

    Welcome.

Here at xBhp it's all about following road safety, driving responsibly and enjoying your hobby. Reckless and aggressive driving attitude/style is a STRICT no-no in xBhp and xBhp in no way endorse or entertain riders of that sort. Also, please go through xBhp FAQ guidelines (for newbikes) on how to post, where to post etc, which will help you get accustomed to the forum decorum.

    Ride safe!

    Cheers!
    VJ
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

      Re: cant decide on anything

From you post, I can say that you are a rash rider. Bending, speeding, ripping in city area... Not a thing to be proud of. I am also 21, but that doesn't mean you should ride a bike like there is no tomorrow.

And as VJ sir has clearly mentioned, xBhp doesn't share the same thoughts. It teaches us to be humble on the road, have proper safety gears and not be a danger to ourselves and others on the road.

And avoid using sms lingo in the posts.

Now, take a look at the 'What bike' section an post your query in a proper way. The format has been given there.

I hope you would take this as a friendly advice and change your attitude a little bit.

      Ride safe and have fun.
      Regards
      Nadeem

        Re: cant decide on anything

As much as I can understand your excitement... there is tonnes to learn and move forward... Post the question is a structure so we can get a little more clarity.

Laughing about your dad's tellings... he's true. tell him that you don't need an Enfield to give you structure or sort you a bit... you've got xBhp and the community to learn from... as far as responsible biking is concerned, so welcome aboard and participate in being responsible. Once among us you need to endorse that, so as to keep the disposition of xBhp among the public in high standards... i'm sure we don't want to be branded a reckless community and invite ride killing laws on ourselves and we all work towards it by riding well... by bending +70 degrees responsibly...

Lastly, you need something that can spare you some dough for protective gear too, especially since you acknowledge you're riding style. Do post up the query in a format so others can get better involved...

        Cheers.

my agressive and careless riding style
Are you serious? Are you sure you are 21? If you care so much about your parents' money then you should start caring about your riding style as well, you gotta wisen up man. If you ask me, you do not know how to ride unless you know how to ride safe. "Aggressive and careless riding" - that any kid will do.

Sorry if I am being rude man, but if you don't change your riding style, a bigger bike like NS or a Duke will kill you. The Dio may be forgiving, but a bike which can easily reach 135kmph is not a joke on Indian roads, especially with your riding style.

                Re: cant decide on anything

Though many have already told about safe driving, here are my two cents. Safe driving is pleasure, also safe driving is not slow and boring driving. Please go through the art of safe driving section (The Art Of Safe Riding) there are too good posts there. Truly, xBhp changed my riding style, I am enjoying my rides more these days because of that. @TS, please don't forget that fellow riders in the road mark you with one word when you ride with your 'style' - Jerk. ( I used to be one and xBhp changed me, I welcome you to change as well).

Now coming to your query, you seem to like everything . Right from RE to Dukes, from Avvy to Hx . In a way your dad is correct, RE might tame you as RE bikes are more enjoyable when ridden wisely. I have always felt a parent always knows best what his kid needs. Go for the RE, you will be happy.
Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).

Yeah, Im 22 now, I have improved a lot. Basically because my parents made a deal with me that I can think of a new bike if I can be without crashing the Dio for a month. Yeah. Thats the way I ride, if a kid could beat me, I wouldnt even be riding a bike. Rash and aggresive riding are of two forms. One where your not in control of the situation and the other where you are in complete control. Keeping in mind the traffic, pedestrians, people falling from the sky, every second calculating, every nook and corner allows for an overtake, every pothole is a free pass to speed up when others stop, its a little too advanced and the technique is the result of the every changing DYNAMIC Bangalore roads. Untrustable, I always accelerate 3 sec brake 1 sec or something.
I think we are a new breed of riders, who can go through these mind boggling traffic and shit. My friends who ride an avenger and a pulsar 200 claim to be the faastest, and my avenger friend claims he is the fastest and the worst avenger rider on the planet. The pulsar guy is also just as epic, though lot of people ride pulsar very interestingly. I personally havent seen anyone do what they do on their insane machines. Me and my friends maintain CONSTANT speeds. For us its a DAILY RACE. I kno xBHP doesnt support this, but Im just telling this to you. WE maintain constant speeds as in constant 60, constant 80, constant 100, constant 140. We dont stop, we dont brake much. Just keep going. There is a way, or we make a way or we find a way. WE have BIG plans. We wanna record our worst of performances and show it to the world. Make a Youtube channel. Show what WE FACE EVERYDAY BECAUSE OF THE RANDOM DYNAMIC BANGALORE ROADS FILLED WITH IDIOTS. Whatever! The average road speed in bangalore is 20KMPh. the roads are wide, they are good, but still older bangaloreons travel at 20kmph only. If your stuck behind a car then it can be 8-10kmph. So aint nobody got time for that! I hope you can understand what I mean from all this. Im not simply showing off. My avenger friend is so retard(crazy whatever) at 110 kmph, he went inbetween two trucks, one overtaking the other on the wrong side of the road. Inbetween them. Its unthinkable. but he does this kind of sh**. So do I. its all bout guts, precision, timing, calculation and madness. No margin for error. I hope all the riders understand the addiction to adrenaline!
