Re: choosing between the avenger and the comet 250
Thread Approved.
Welcome aboard. I'd suggest not to go for Comet especially used ones, as their spares are very hard to source, plus the new GD250 from Hysoung is officially in the corner to be launched at the Auto Expo 2014.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: choosing between the avenger and the comet 250
I would choose neither of the bikes you specified.
My suggestion:
1. Buy new
2. Increase the budget and get a Duke 200 and if that isn't possible, then opt for the Pulsar 200 NS.
3. Whatever you decide on, shortlist a few bikes and take a test ride first.

Re: choosing between the avenger and the comet 250
I would suggest you wait for the auto expo as many new bikes are going to be launched at the expo.
If you can't wait go ahead with the avenger instead of going for a used comet. Since you like cruising i suggest you take a look at the RE CL 350 also.
Cheers

Re: choosing between the avenger and the comet 250
i think you should go for avenger or a hero zmr if you can increase your budget(or want to buy used bike : not recommended) then cbr 250 or a enfield
don't buy comet you will regret your purchase.....if you don't believe me then go through the ownership thread of comet...

Re: choosing between the avenger and the comet 250
Dont Buy any of them,
Avenger is old bike now and for cruiser it might look like one , but lacks power
comet old one avoid as spares are very difficult to get even with Hyosung is in india as old parts production stopped
Your Choices : Post Auto Expo launches
1. New Cruiser from Bajaj
2. GV250 from Hyosung
3. Mojo from M&M
4. CBR 300 or 500
5. HD street 750
Avoid Duke/KTM , as they are not soo good when it comes to cruiser dept and also other sports bikes
as per Hyosung , i am owner of 250R and after 15000 km and more than 1 year ownership , i can say i have no issue with them or with bike.
