  • Motorbike for a female friend!

    Hi!

I'm posting this on behalf of a female friend who is in need of a motorbike to replace her Scooty. She has had previous experience of riding my Honda Unicorn, so she's not averse to riding a geared vehicle. Also, her younger brother shall be using the same bike, so the obvious need to go for a geared motorbike, instead of a Scooter.

Her requirements are the bike should have good mileage, and should be easy to ride. Plus there is something which need to be considered. She has an ankle problem on her right leg, due to which she wants the seating height of the bike to be as low as possible so she can easily maneuver her feet while riding, and be able to plant her feet on the ground when stationary.

Daily commute would be an average 12-15 KMs in Bangalore.

    1. Budget : 70-75K
    2. Age : 23 years
    3. Height : 5'4"
    4. Weight : 85 KGs
    5. Intended usage (eg. Office/College commute, Highway runs, Racetrack usage, Weekend recreation riding etc.) : Office, casual city usage
    6. Fuel Efficiency requirement (approx., if any) As high as possible.
    7. City & Highway percentage usage 95% city, 5% highway
    8. Approximate Daily / Monthly running Daily average would be around 12 KMs
    9. City / Town /Village of residence (so we can evaluate road conditions / traffic / terrain / altitude / OTR pricing) Bangalore
    10. Brand / Bike type preference (if any) No preference as such.

    Thanks

      BAL's Avenger comes to mind.

I did consider the Avenger. But not sure if it fits in the budget.

Okay, now reading all this, I've convinced her to go for a Gearless scooter. What would be the best option in that?

Hey Kunal, if your friend was looking for a gear bike with minimum seat height, then its the Avenger alone that comes into picture. But cost and fuel economy plays the spoilsport. In the given budget, the Honda Trigger could be one such bike that can be comfortable for a 5'4" female rider with a decent fuel economy.

In the range of scooters, the TVS Jupiter and Suzuki Access were the ones which cames into my mind that are very comfortable to ride in city and highways.

The TVS Jupiter seems to be a good package overall.

As she is heavy(dont mind), I would say a 125cc scooter would be better, So I would suggest the Swish or Access.
