  • Best bike in 150cc

    Hello xBhpians,

Please help me out selecting the best suited bike based on the given requirements

    1. Budget : Upto 90K
    2. Age : 24 Years
    3. Height : 5' 10"
    4. Weight : 75 Kg
    5. Intended usage : Office commute and Weekend recreation riding
    6. Fuel Efficiency requirement : 45-50
    7. City & Highway percentage usage : City - 80%, Highway - 20%
    8. Approximate Daily running : 20-25Km
    9. City of residence : Pune (MH)
    10. Brand preference : Honda and Yamaha

    I have shortlisted

    1. Honda Unicorn : Proven bike
    2. Honda CB trigger : Heard about vibrations and the build quality is also not impressive.
    3. Bajaj Pulsar : Proven bike
    4. Hero Moto Hunk : Does it have the same engine as Honda Unicorn. Has several add-on features over unicorn like tubeless tires and digital console.
    5. Yamaha FZ : Less on mileage and high on maintenance.

Or any other you would suggest.

    Regards
    Akshat

If possible, include GS150R to your choices. And FZ is not that much high on maintenance due to the quality of parts used.

If you can add 10k and get a 200ns And be the most exclusive on road.
Or if you can't, get a fz or gs150r

I have been in dilemma regarding the same for around 2 months. But trust me the best bike is not what others say, it is the one on which YOU are most comfortable on. So take a test drive, you will come to know which is the best for you.

People suggested me FZ and NS, but I liked the Apache the moment I sat on the pilot seat, So go with what your heart and mind says after TD To add: I am getting my bike delivered tmrw eve and I am happy because I choose it with my heart.

Fz is considered as a low maintenance bike not sure who gave you this wrong information. Yamaha bikes are solid... don't believe me look at people going crazy for RX100's.

Getting 55KMPL from my 2012 FZS.. not a single brake down till now... perfect handler in city too...

Well, Fzs delivers an average mileage of 40-45 kmPL; and suits well for all your requirements.Else you of course can go for Pulsar if you are ready to love and take care of your bike. It delivers better mileage too. I love my pulsar as my girlfriend and in return it satisfies me with its service.

                  Thanks all for the suggestions.

After taking test ride I have shortlisted Honda Unicorn and CBZ Xtreme.

I am inclined towards CBZ xtreme because of 1. Digital Console 2. Dual Disc Option and Tubeless tires. All these are missing in Honda Unicorn.

Please suggest CBZ Xtreme is better in terms of performance and mileage than Honda Unicorn.

Go for it if you like it. I feel the unicorn looks outdated compared to cbz. But again refinement of unicorn is much better than cbz.

XTreme is better in terms of performance than Unicorn, but slightly less mileage compared to Unicorn.
In Hunk/Xtreme ownership thread, there are people who get around 55kmpl. You can expect around 45-50kmpl in city traffic.
And, why you ruled out Hunk?

If you can compromise a little bit in looks, try cbz xtreme sports. It is 15.2 hp powered. Else go for cb trigger

When did the FZ become a high maintenance bike?

From your list, my choice would be FZ. Smooth, Beautiful and comfortable. You don't seem to be interested on more power either. And kick the guy who said FZ needs high maintainance. Its build quality is excellent . And milege in all the listed bike would be more or less the same(45-55 range), depending on your riding style.
Test ride all the bikes, then decide.
