    What bike query approved!

Ajay, your query is very vague. Kindly provide necessary info like:
    1. Budget
    2. Your height/weight
    3. Usage pattern - city/highway/both
    4. Mileage requirements
    5. Pillion comfort etc.

These points will give us an idea of your requirements and we would be able to help you better.

In the meanwhile, go through http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/what-bik...e-comfort.html

      Re: Which bike to buy???

Since you wrote your budget is not high, so here are some budget bikes.

For 125 cc mileage commuters you can look at
      Ignitor
      Discover 125 models

For 150cc sporty commuters you can look at
Suzuki GS 150R (Good console + 6th cog)

Honda CB Trigger (Good console + Mileage + Honda Reliability)

New Hero CBZ Extreme (New product + Reliable engine + Hero's vast service network)

      TVS Apache 160

If you can wait for some time then, Suzuki is coming with 150 cc Gixxer. Also Bajaj may be coming with Pulsar 150/180 NS.

Thanks for the info i should b giving. Actually i am very new to bikes, so m naive about the details to be considered.

          Anyways,

          My budget is below 70k
          Height : 5.8''
          Weight : 70Kg
Mostly want to travel within city. very rarely on highways.
Mileage is prime criteria, More the better.
          Pillion comfort is also essential.

Also i want to know, what is the maximum weight to be carried in pillion without affecting the shocks of the bikes?

Lots of options - Hero series (Splendors and Passions), Honda Shine, Mahindra Centuro, Discovers.

I'd advice buying a 125 cc bike since you'd have a pillion along most of the time. On an average, a 75 kg pillion would do just fine as these are robust bikes.
Take a proper test ride and decide.

            Keep us posted!

Well, as mileage is your prime concern you can look at the below bikes:-

              1. Yamaha SS 125 :- 60 - 67 kmpl
              2. Discover 125 M :- around 65 kmpl
              3. Honda Stunner :- 55 - 60 kmpl
              4. Hero Ignitor :- around 50 kmpl

From these I think you can look at Yamaha SS for mileage plus engine reliability. Also you can look at Honda Stunner for styling plus power plus engine reliability and FI.

Max payload according to Manufacturers for these bikes is around 150 kg give or take 5kgs.

AFAIK, Yamaha SS125 won't give 65kmpl in city.

I have driven Discover 125M, found it perfect for our road traffic conditions. Surely go and test drive it.

If you ride sanely, SS125 will give you between 55-60 kmpl. But it's a very good bike in comfort(for pillion as well), performance and smoothness. Check online reviews.
You can also consider Shine if vibrations above 60kmph+ is not an issue for you.
Take a TD on whatever you choose before buying.

SZ is also a good bike, it's basically FZ engine tuned for mileage.
You can do good speeds on SZ, and it looks good.
Take test rides of the bikes, and then decide.

yamaha ss, though a good bike, hardly returns 50-52 kmpl. 60+ is a dream for it. Being mileage a prime concern Discover 125M and Hero Ignitor are better options.

I have clocked 14000+ km.s on my SS and get between 53-57 in heavy Kolkata traffic.
If yes, if mileage is your 'only' concern, then please don't go for any YAMAHA bikes.
For mileage, Glamour, Shine and Discover are good ones.
