  • Newbie biker

    Hi,

I've been registered on this forum since way back, but have been inactive since ages.

    Background info:
    City: Chennai
    Age: 24, Male
    Height: 5 7"
    Weight: 70Kg
    Budget: 80K

Previous riding experience: Used a Suzuki Samurai around 2 years back, haven't ridden a bike since then! I'm also a complete newbie with respect to bikes, specs etc.

Which/What sort of bike should I be looking for with this kind of budget and experience (handling, speed etc.)?

    > I want a bike for mainly city commuting and occasional long distance commutes.
    > I don't want a Discover, Splendor sort of bike. To be frank guys, I want something that will up my oomph quotient.
    > I will be buying the bike on EMI, mostly 1-1.5 months from now.
    > Bikes on my mind: FZ, RTR 180.

    Thanks!

Expected fuel FE and monthly experience?
And if I'm not wrong, your preference would be around 150 cc.

        Thanks!

You need a comfortable bike as most of your riding is in the city limits, Fz is ok in riding posture but Rtr has got a lean forward riding stance, which i don't think suitable for city riding, why not go for Cb trigger, and hunk from Hero, if you want Fz then you can look out for newer version which will be launched very shortly and you can have that oomph factor as you will be riding a totally new bike with new technology.

          Thanks for the quick replies!

A mileage of 40-50 km would suffice.
The new FZ model is going to be released on June 30.

along with other options check out the Hero Xtreme 2014 model, Its new, refreshing design will give you oomp factor.
And hero vehicles are reliable, low maintenance, and the service centers are fairly good.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

              Re: Newbie biker

Wait for a few days/weeks for the new version of FZ. Let's see what Yamaha has in store for us.
The new Hero Xtreme and GS150 is a good product overall but I think it should be a little high for your height.
Trigger should be another option with slightly more power output than Unicorn.
