  • Planing to buy CBR 150r. Is it Worth to buy..???

    Hi friends,,

I am Hemanth From Andhra Pradesh.. I Planing to buy CBR 150r. My height is 6 feet and little bit chubby... My budget is 1,50,000.. Now i am using Pulsar 180. But it has very gruff engine pick up is good but riding is not pleasantness.. I don't like Duke and ZMA. but my friends saying there is no pass and engine kill switch in CBR150 which is not acceptable for 1,40,,000 rupees bike and torque is just 12nm. So they told me to wait for Pulsar 200ss which has more power and advanced technology than CBR150r.. actually i drive 80-90kmph . i dont't go more than that speed.... So, i am totally confused.. My pulsar 180 has 17bhp.. CBR has 17.5@10,000rpm. So pik up is same for both bikes??? is there any difference with in pick up..?? is CBR 150r worth to buy or not..??? please give me some valuable suggestions ..

    Approved!

If you upshift the same way on CBR 150 as you do on P180, you'd feel low on pick up.
It's a high revving mill and you should know how and when to shift. Keep it in its power band and you'll love it.

You said that you will ride under 90kmpH speed than this is good option and u totally enjoy stress free and smooth ride and good mileage but the price is very high for this kind of performance and the resale value is very low and I am not going to recommended this to you.

Thanx you friends for your replies .. . I didn't see much CBR's on roads.. Whats the problem?? is there any technical issues's or .. due to the high price..??? and also what i am thinking is should i wait for P200ss ..?? Because bikeadvise.com said that p200ss comes in market may be in August or September.. and it has more power and latest technology than CBR 150r.. CBR 150r doesn't have engine kill and Pass switch that is not acceptable ...

Due to high price and low performance and costly paid service and availability of spare parts are the main reason why cbr 150 not sale in big numbers.u will get 12nm torque that to with the double amount. Wait for Bajaj 200ss

Finally it is not easy to spend more than 1lakh on the bike for the common man.

Do wait for the Pulsar200SS, if you can. Else get the P200NS. Honestly CBR 150 is not an upgrade from your P180. Or else, if you can spend more, get the CBR250. It will satisfy all your needs.

Cbr150r is not a good upgrade of P180. Both have almost same pick up. Cbr is more agile for low weight when P180 advances with better torque. Well, if your maximum speed is 100 kmph, you should have no problem with Cbr150r. Try to test drive and feel how it suits you.

Want to buy a CBR, then go for cbr250 while in 150cc category sports bike, go for R15.

                    Ride safe and have fun.

CBR 150 and R15 belongs to a different segment as compared to Pulsar 200/220 and Apache 180. Both the pulsars are value for money and both the machines from the Japs are more oriented towards quality and performance. More ccs and more bhps does not always guarantee better performance and a better upgrade. More so when you want to keep your top speed within 90 kmph. Amongst these two my vote would go for R15 for the quality and performance. Honestly, I didn't like the quality of the switch gears of CBR 150. You mentioned that you don't line the ZMA - but it's a really good bike IMO.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

If you dont like dukes and zmr or zma then get the r15. It may not be the most comfortable bike but way lot better than cbr 150r. Lack of engine kill switch, pass switch is not acceptable in any way. So get the r15.

what's all this hooey about the CBR150R not having a kill switch being "unacceptable"!?!

rubbish. it's not a deal breaker at all.

test ride the CBR 150R and you'll know if it's the right fit for you.

size. weight. acceleration. power. riding position.

those are things that no one can tell how the bike will suit you.

i'm not going to confuse you with even more options from other manufacturers...

you've obviously asked about the CBR150R because it's YOUR top contender within your budget and personal choice.

it's a really good bike with a smooth engine and gearbox.

honda does not make junk. it will be reliable and when kept within it's power-band, it's a fun ride.

one thing you need to consider is availability of spares near where you live.

I would suggest you to wait for the pulsar 200SS. It surely will have better technology than CBR for the same pricing. Besides since you own a Pulsar you know you can trust the quality and ruggedness in their bikes. The spare parts in the CBR are very expensive and in case of an unfortunate fall the faring will be way to much expensive so the best is to wit for the 200SS.

you can also take a look at soon to be launched KTM RC200 which looks like a promising contender as per Indian riding conditions
