  • need help !!! comfortable bike for my back

    hello my dear xbhpians,

I need your help with your valuable suggestions.
I'm 5 feet 11 inches with 82 kgs with a recovering lower back pain due to some disc bulge in l4-l5 vertebrate.

I ride 20kms daily with 300 kms in weekends with a pillon (sometimes with mr bro of 74kgs or with my girlfriend of 55-60kgs)

    I previously had p180 for 3 years and p220 for 1.5 years.
Now the problem is my brother wants my bike and I have to get myself another ride.

    My options are -

    1) p200ns - i'm used to good power so more inclined towards it.(is it true that is not good for pillon and has stiff suspension)
    2) fz2.0 - has low power but i guess very comfortable
    3) zmr - imo new zmr has more aggresive stance

Want a bike having better comfort than my p220.
Also I would not like to go to service centres except on regular service time.

    thank you
    i'm really confused
how important it is to feel strong,
    rather than just being strong.

    What-bike query approved.

FZ 1.0 was comfortable enough when I rode it. Riding stance was slightly on the sporty side.
An advantage is that you can fit Pulsars' handlebar to make it more comfortable for your back.

In factory setting, P200 NS' rear suspension is hard than most bikes. Its more of a sporty bike. For your situation, I would say there are better choices. Discover 150F is one of them, just for example.

Also, test ride Yamaha SZ before deciding.

One another suggestion would be, consider Karizma R, the new one. If it has a handlebar then obviously modifying it later on will be easier (than with clip ons).

Re: need help !!! comfortable bike for my back

      thanks for the reply

cant we change p200ns suspension on softer side.
regarding my back , it has recovered a lot
Can ride my p220 easily now(thanks to my physiotherapist)

i rode sz and i didn't like that.

Is p200ns prone to niggles(are they more than my loyal p220)

      sorry
cant make my mind for a 150cc
but i guess, i'll have no choice

I think you need to specify your budget so that it will be easier for others to suggest your ride.
Below 1 lack I think the options are few. You can try the new karizma R (if you are okay with the new design ). Then there is suzuki gs 150r and Honda unicorn. Both bikes are comfortable for riding but I personally don't think these are worthy successor of p220. If you are looking for 150cc bikes nothing replaces these in terms of comfort.
Now if you are ready to stretch your budget then there are rides from the stable of Royal Enfield and Honda waiting for you.

You can try out the FZ 2.0, GS150 or Unicorn. All of them are smooth and refined though GS150 is more suitable in highways.
Else, try out the Karizma R.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Well well well.......After driving the likes of pulsar 220 I dont think you would be satisfied with the 150 cc's . Your priority is comfort and and power and if you can stretch your budget a bit you must buy the new hero zmr .

a bike is very rare which peovides excellent comfort and performance together. Pulsar 200 NS does not provide such comfort as you require. Perhaps the older version of ZMR could be a good option for you but the newer models are aggressive. I'd suggest you to compromise on performance and get a 150 cc bike for your own physical comfort. FzS V2, Unicorn, Exteme are good options.

ok guys then ithink i would take my p220 back
and give my bro a p200ns
is it ok to go for a p200ns(i.e., is it free from niggles as dont want to be a frequent visitor to SCC)

If your riding is on good roads then you can definitely consider 200ns. I find it more comfortable than my bullet standard. Riding posture is slightly forward leaning which don't effect your back or wrists. Suspension is on little harder side but is manageable.
