  • confused selecting my first bike

hello friends , i am new on xbhp and i am about to buy my first bike i am confused between a couple of them .
here are some of my personal details and requirements
i am 6'3" and my weight is 93 kgs i am tall and a healthy so i am looking for a bike that suits me .
i need a daily usage + weekend drives and a fun riding bike which is worth of its price
my budget is 1.5 lakhs max .
    i like 2 bikes
    1) honda cbr 150r and 2) tvs apache RTR 180 abs
and this is my first bike and i am a rookie driver .
so plz recommend which one is better or any other bike in my budget .

    Query Approved

Neither of the two bikes are very good for someone of your height. The Apache is small even for me at 5'11". Something like the 200NS or Duke 200 would be a better fit.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Re: confused selecting my first bike

If abs is first on ur priorty, It hav to be rtr
      or else it's cbr150 for it's realiblity

honda is not making any sales with cbr150r. so it may be phased out

rtr 180 is clocking decent number.

      my suggestion is rtr180abs

note: rtr 180 and cbr are smaller for you.

you didn't consider Pulsar 200 ns, karizma zmr?

Karizma ZMR - will suit your height and build, very reliable and proven engine, comfortable for touring.

Gixxer155 - fresh new looks, haven't seen one on road but looks reasonably big on paper, super smooth Suzuki engine.

pulsar 200ns - looks small but is actually tall, powerful engine with good performance.

        test ride and then decide.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: confused selecting my first bike

Go for Kazrizma ZMR. Proven machine. As this is supposed to be your first bike, Hero's nationwide network will be an added boon. You can add some good riding gears with the remaining money.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Pulsar 200 NS, Duke 200 and Karizma ZMR fits tall guys like tou and me. P.S. I am 6'2" myself and a proud owner of a 6 month old 200 NS.

Do try out the ZMR as well, it looks better in reality than in pics.

What's your budget? suggest you wait for KTM RC to be released for test rides.. you can then decide..

Here are the list of bikes that can be consider
1.pulsar 200ns.dilipbam say' it has less life because of dtsi engine and tripple spark plug but i think it is not true because i have bajaj discover 135 sports edition and i have abuse it many times and it still going strong after 52000km only clutch plates are changed.the problem is it start consuming engine oil after 25000km but i take it to 52000km amd still it is going good.it consume 150ml after riding 800km.

You can also consider pulsar 220.

2.hero karizma r/zmr known to be very reliable bike and comfortable as compared to any bike.

3.honda i would say not to buy cbr 150 because of it 150cc which cost morr than yamaha r15 but the engine is very good.i think it would be replace by honda in the coming 1-2 years.it sild very less.

4.yamaha r 15 is not good due to the seating poistion and the pillion seat and not good for the taller person.

5.suzuki.you can test ride suzuki gixxer but it is 155cc bike.good reliable engine.

6.tvs apache 180 abs is good bike.

Thanks, what struck me on the couple of rides I took is the smoothness & sheer quality of the overall package.

What one misses in the current product is the verve of the 'The Boss' (Shogun). But, I think this should serve me well for many years.

BTW, there was a Hayabusa undergoing PDI when I went to check out my ride. The quality & finish, especially in the bright red color is outstanding & I fell in love with the sinewy curves! Have to start saving up!
