    Best automatic scooter.

    Hi all xbhpians.
    My name is Farhan and currently i own a Kawasaki Ninja 300 and a Yamaha Fazer. Fazer is used mostly by my brother. So there is a need for a automatic scooter for daily chores where i cant take the Ninja. Budget is not an issue. Comfort and reliability are major concerns. I weight 105 kgs and my height is 5.11. Please suggest me a good scooter. Till now 8 have shortlisted 2 of them. One is the Honda Activa 125 and another one is TVS Jupiter. Earlier i was inclined towards the New TVS Wego whis has all the latest features. But when i went to TVS showroom , i found its front look very small small in respect with my height and weight. So its not on my list also i am looking for a scooter which has telescopic suspensions. Waiting for your help guys. Thank you

      For you, Jupiter would be good. I had test driven Jupiter earlier this year and found it to be quite good and sturdy. I was also a bit on the heavier side at that time and it felt comfortable to ride.

      Check the xBhp review for Jupiter and see what all features it has.

        Jupiter should be the first choice.

        Check out Yamaha Alpha and Hero Maestro too.
        Both are reliable and good machines.

          Thank you for your replies brothers.
          I dont like the looks of alpha and in maestro the suspensions are not telescopic like the jupiter and activa 125.
          And also when selecting for a scooter should one be worried about brands . I keep hearing goods about Honda but no idea about TVS. Price difference between jupiter and activa 125 is about 14000. Also can someone tell about aftersales service of TVS in mumbai and in case of activa 125 the disc version costs Rs 83500 . Is it worth and what are the pros & cons of disc brakes in a scooter.
          Too many questions. But i am new to scooters.

            You can check out Yamaha Alpha and Suzuki Access as both of them have good power and torque and will suite your requirement.
            And if budget is not a problem why don't you check out the Vespa? Stylish and one of its kind in a crowd. Will surely make you stand out.

              you already know the pros of the disc brakes - better stopping power.

              There are a few cons of disc brakes fitted to scooters - As you know bikes are very well equipped to handle the stress and strain of disc brakes(fat grippy tires, good suspension, stable chassis etc). But scooter have neither of these. The tires are very small compared to bikes, they are not fat or grippy as bikes, and suspension is nowhere as good as the bikes. These factors may cause problems during panic breaking.The small thin tires may cause the scooter to loose its front during panic braking.

                Exact Same query from my side. I need to choose between Jupiter and Wego. I am only 5 ft 8 inch, but 82KG weight. I am ok with Wego, But Jupiter seems to be more comfortable on long rides. BUT, With non availability of Disc in Jupiter, I am inclined towards Wego. Wego has more style, but Jupiter as more practicality. Even the foot board of Jupiter is wider.
                I want help from people of my height(And over-weight ), who own Wego. Want to ask them about comfort. Else will get the Jupiter.

                      Thank you for this question. As it made me do a little research again. And i found out the price is for instant delivery. If booked then with a waiting period of 45 days i get it for Rs 69500.
                      Now the question is jupiter (59500) VS Activa125 deluxe (alloys and disc @ 69500)

                        Finally booked a jupiter. Thank you guys for your suggestions. Getting the bike on 27th. Color would be decided on 27th itself.

                        Why jupiter :
                        Lots of features which other scooters miss even expensive ones.
                        Specially 12" inch wheels. Both rear and front.
                        No waiting. Looks new.
                        Largest leg space
                        Least turning radius.
                        Introduction of new matte titanium grey color.

                        Why not activa 125 :
                        Long waiting period.
                        Front wheel 12 inch , rear wheel 10 inch
                        Looks same as old activa or aviator.
                        Not much to offer at that price point
