  • Entry level sports bike

    Hi Guys,

I am looking to buy an entry level sports bike in the 200cc-300cc range. The bike would mostly be used over the weekends for long ride on highways. I had earlier zeroed in on CBR250R, but the new KTM RC twins had me thinking again. I also keep hearing that CBR300R is just around the corner.

I am wondering if I should go for KTM RC200, or KTM RC390, or wait for the CBR300R. Although I am on a tight budget, I would be willing to pay more if the specs/reviews are compelling. Please feel free to suggest other models/future launches in the similar price range. Also, I can wait for at least 3-4 months before I make my final decision.

Your opinions and views would me much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!
    Shivendra

One more option for you, might also be a little over budget though. Kawasaki launched it's Z250 today at 2.99 Ex-Showroom Delhi.

        Hey!
You want bike for touring purposes then I think RC will not suit you because its track oriented and it's riding posture will not suit you in long tours but this is my opinion. You can go for CBR250R it's tried and tested Tourer bike or you can also consider duke twins and if you can raise your budget slightly then super refined twin cylinder inazuma and z250 is there . Finally take TD and then decide because at last it is you who has to drive.

RC is track oriented and I personally wont suggest for touring or highway due to its very small fuel tank, where you ll end up always in gas station every hour or so. CBR250 is one of the best touring vehicle available in entry level class.

Will give good wind protection and also comes with ABS. Z250 is little expensive and doesn't have all the goodies from its elder models. so CBR250...if you are waiting for another 3-4 months..may be CBR300 could come...but so far , haven't heard about it launch in India ...

CBR250 is good choice if you want VFM. Also consider Hero HX250r if you are ready to wait , it has better power and torque figures than CBR250. It is rumored to be released before this year end.

I'd suggest you to go with the CBR250. The best entry level affordable sports bike in India today.

yup, +1 for the above post.
CBR 250 should be the obvious choice if you need a bike right now.
If you are willing to wait, there are many fresh new bikes just around the corner.
