• A super sport or a Naked Sport ?

Hi,
I've been around reading loads of posts here but still failed to get a definitive answer to my question.
I'm going to buy a bike within 2-3 months but the problem is dire. I love D200 but that's a naked bike and the cost is almost similar to R15 but the performance is miles ahead. Also pillion comfort has made me put down both these bikes and choose b/w CBR150 and 200NS(correct me if I'm wrong in my assumption).
Now am I missing something here because CBR 250 would go well over 1.60 plus I'd cry for ABS and that would not really be feasible from a budgetary point of view.
Now, about me:
5'8 -ish lean 22 and probably on a job by then. I like to rush through traffic like a thief(so no Royal Enfield stuff) and kill the throttle of anything I drive(with care ofcourse).
Seeing all this P200 NS seems apt but then no fairing and for highways, would maintaining high speeds be a tedious affair ?
CBR looks hot and is a faired one but comes at a price quite high for a 150cc mill.
Suggestions, contradictions and advise, all are heartly welcome. I have sufficient time to think so give me a satisfactory response or I'll have loads of cross questions

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I will suggest you the pulsar 220 it has decent pillion comfort + good power(a little less than the ns) + 220cc for a very reasonable price tag + a semi-fairing which makes it very stable on the highways at high speeds and its manageable in traffic though not as easy to handle as the cbr or duke due to the extra weight.
Edit: In addition to all of the above, the projector headlights on the 220 is miles ahead when compared to headlights of all the bikes you mentioned.

CBR 150 is overpriced. I have pulsar 200ns And today i have did 180km with pillion with a top speed of 132.but after 123kmph speed it takes time and wind is blowing to the chest like anything minimum speed is 80kmph and I got 30kmpl mileage.
Comfort wise it is better than duke.

Have you considered Karizma ZMR?

Or if you can, keep saving money and wait for next gen CBR250R ABS or CBR300R

Yes, 220 has crossed my mind and personally, I like it. But it's too old and too common. deep007
That's what I'm talking about. I know that with 23 bhp crossing 100kmph would be easy for the bike but with the winds in play, would it be easy for the rider to maintain ? The crosswinds don't let you enjoy your speed. hgps
ZMR is just a freak show for my taste. Looks are important man. Actually, I'd have to buy a bike at a moment's notice and I can't really stretch it out as I've already waited 4 years for this.

you can get tried and tested bikes like pulsar 220, 200ns, karizma r, zmr, rtr 180 abs. if you are bored of these bikes, get the duke/rc 200 or if you can hold on and see where the hx satisfies you.

Re: A super sport or a Naked Sport ?

There are rumors about CBR 150 going out of production very soon, due to very low sales. Stats show that only 200-250 CBR150 are sold against a whopping 3000 R15. So I would suggest not to go for CBR 150. Besides it is overpriced and does not have even the standard equipment.
P 200NS is good, but if the budget allows Duke 200 is the best.
Take test rides and then decide.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

It would have been better if duke had no pillion seat at all
Anyhow, pillion seat and comfort is a necessity and that is the reason I can't opt for duke.
A faired(1st preference) bike which is comfortable and fits in the budget and is new. Man am I going nuts searching for one.

You can consider getting a used CBR250R ABS with <10,000kms on odo. I have seen them selling b/w 1.4-1.6L

Re: A super sport or a Naked Sport ?

Hey, you are going nuts over this! Please try to understand, you have to let go at least one feature! Just now you said, looks are important, and faired bike will be good. But then you won't be able to zip through the traffic at all, you will have to take a lot of margin for a faired bike while in traffic (compared to 200ns and duke).

First of all, you should estimate, how much highway riding you will be doing. Suppose your annual highway mileage is around 10% compared to that in city, then it makes more sense to buy a duke/200ns. For rare highway tours, duke and 200ns are not that bad. Ask any of the owners of 200ns, duke.

If you end up buying a faired one, and drive/commute a lot in a packed traffic, you will get irritated a lot. I don't mean to say that faired bikes are useless in traffic, I have seen your comment above that you love to zip zap through traffic and stay in front of it! Else I don't have a problem personally, in fact I drive passively in traffic, and I am ok with it.

So I would say, decide what you want first of all (faired or naked). And once you have decided, don't look back at the options you have left, you will feel bad about it and get confused again!

P.S. I am not up to date with the fresh arrivals, but you should look at the 'coming soon' options also. Best of luck! And remember, all the bikes in your wishlist are unique and exceptionally good. So even if you end up buying a bike out of impulsive thinking, don't regret your decision!

yeah brother, the pillion seat is indeed a problem.
I cannot suggest you the R15 because of the pillion seat problem. I own one and know how good a bike it is. But then again "pillion seat is bloody useless".
Check out the Fazer V2.0, it is semi faired, the pillion seat will be a bit more comfortable. and it is a decent bike.

else try the new FZ 2.0 and the Gixxer.both are naked street bike and good value for money.
Happy bike hunting brother. choose wisely.

carelessakki FZ 2.0 is a decent buy and looks are pretty damn good. Pillion is way better comfy than D200 or R15. Zipping through traffic with that wide handle bar should not be a problem at all.
