  • help needed in choosing a sbk.

well guys.. i have been planning a SBK for a while now.. have been talking to people both xbhpians and other friends regarding my purchase.. a couple of days back i was talking to a friend of mine who is been into superbiking for a while now, i told him bout my plans to acquire a 600cc bike. i have been riding a zma for bout 5 years.. he suggested before i take a leap to a 600cc or a litre class i should first opt for a 400cc.. use it for a while, get the feel of a big bike and then proceed there on.. he suggested he could get me a good cb400 super four..
i needed your help guys should i go 4 the super four, use it for a couple of months and then move on to a 600 or a litre class?
i have ridden a few sbks.. have ridden a friends 1000rr quite a few times and bout a distance of 20-30 kms at a strech..
i need your help guys to help me decide on sumthing.. it has got me quite confused and moreover made me a bit more scared.

    Topic Approved.

It is utter nonsense to get a 400cc first, then a 600cc, then a 1000cc. Just get hold of a 1000cc if that's what you want. If you are responsible AND ofcourse mature enough to understand the immense power that you would be getting with a big bike, you would be really 'at home' even on a 1400cc machine!

On the other hand, if you have the habit to just twist that right wrist without any bother, then even a puny 100cc bike WILL kill you! Period.
    :)

The main skill you need to have is throttle modulation. You cannot wring it at your whim and fancy as you can on say a Splendor !! (But as Aryan pointed out, even that can be lethal, if done without any descretion!!)

But as you said u have already ridden SBKs, and tat too for 20-30 kms !! You'll do jut fine on a new SBK man. Just go ahead and get it !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

Add Akhil to the list too!!! So if u wish go ahead and get a 600 or a 1000. Cos once u get a 600 and ur aim is a 1000 u will never be satisfied and will outgrow the 600 in a few months! Why waste the time and money then? Get what u wish and enjoy it.

Get what you need, but be responsible

You do not need to be a superman to ride a 1000CC
