Re: YAMAHA RAY Z or TVS ZEST

Strictly the most difficult choice in this category. We have a Ray in my family, Except the milege(around 43-44kmpl, while my Jupiter delivers around 46-47kmpl) and lack of Tubeless tires(not sure, whether the new ones come with TL tires or not), every thing else is exceptional about the bike. For the Scooty Zest, I rode one, and I can say, it IS a brilliant product. Frankly, choose any one you find better in looks, you wont regret.

Out of the two, go for Yamaha.

If you dont mind me asking, are these the only 2 options you are considering??

As mileage is a big concern for you Yamaha alpha is giving more than 55+ mileage, which is more than both of your shortlisted scoots.

I replaced my sister's 6 year old HH Pleasure with a Yamaha alpha last week. It has done about 250 kms and is quite good and is giving 45+ mileage, and it is supposed to give 55+ after the first service. on the down side it is plain looking and not as funky as a Ray.

ok, then I would suggest to go for the Ray.
I have 2 Yamaha in my home now. The overall experience with Yamaha was so good with my first Yamaha (R15), that I bought another Yamaha (alpha) for my sis.
The build quality, the service centers, everything is quite good, in comparison to the others.
Take test drives and then decide.
Choose wisely.

My vote would go for Ray or a Ray-Z. And as Ankey has suggested, the after sales service of Yamaha is exceptional(specially for ladies as I've seen several times while I was in the Factory Outlet of Yamaha).

TVS zest. Fresh looks. Proven engine. Great pick up and decent mileage.

Yamaha service is inherently costly and the service interval is 2 months. Also ray looks ordinary

Looks are subjective . ...for me RAY looks are best in scooter segment .

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.
And till now, I have not found Yamaha much costlier than others. The important fact is, they don't cheat you by selling unnecessary parts/oils.

Yamaha anyday when its for a lady. Hassle free machines. And I have ridden one, its smooth and good brakes.

Hi,

consider Ray. Its so comfortable and easy to move around with. Also consider suzuki let's and swish. They're easy too. For better handling try the TVS Wego! The new model comes with good graphics and revised details to the design! I think this model gets disc brakes which i'm not sure of. So check with the SVC about that. Activa-i would be a good choice too!

Thanks!
