  • What bike under 3.5 lakhs??

    Hi,

I am new to the forum and i have a very quick question to all the experienced bikers in the forum,

What bike i can select under 3.5 lakhs?

I currently own a yamaha R15 v2.0 and planning to buy a new one in next couple of months. The options in front of me are Ninja 300, KTM RC 390 and yamaha R25. I generally use my bike for daily office commute which is about a 30 km ride back and forth and long fast rides on weekends. Duke 390 was also an option but i would rather consider its faired sibling. I generally have my girl as a pillion so i would like some information on pillion comfort as well. She is okay with current R15 pillion seat. Also i would like to know will waiting for a few months fetch me some new upcoming good bikes?

    Thanks in advance,
    Akash

The Ninja 300 is what i would by given the budget. The 300 is well worth the extra money as compared to the RC, and the R25, who knows when with Yamaha!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Ninja 300 is what you should get. Best bike in this class.
You also got Kawasaki Z-250 at 3L now and the KTM RC-390. As for Yamaha R25/R3, its anyone's guess.

      Ride safe and have fun.

Kawasaki Z250 for your allocated budget, but if you are looking for bikes with faring, then its not your choice. Pillion comfort should be good (definitely better than R15 in terms of your pillion safety). If you can stretch your budget by another 40k odd, N300 , go for it blindly.

Pillion seats of RC390 are rock hard. And for your Long fast weekend rides, Pillion comfort will be an issue. Its more of a solo stallion.

Is something wrong with KTM RC 390? Is it not much value for price bike? I would go for a fully faired bike. So benelli being really good will be out of my picture. Thanks for the option anyways. Also as per performance is KTM not better than ninja?

              Hi
If your budget permits I would suggest you N300 because of Kawasaki's high quality and super refined twin cylinder engine and if your budget doesn't then go for RC390 but pillion comfort is not same like R15. You can also opt for CBR250R its tried and tested tourer with good pillion comfort.

My budget won't allow me to extend 3.5 lakhs ...

There is nothing wrong with the RC. But Pillion comfort is a BIG question...If you are able to compromise on that (I wouldn't do it, that too my pillion being a girl. My GF complains about sitting on my CL500 for 10 min, saying its not soft enough, hell what am I supposed to do if I get a RC, she ll say, I am sitting on rocks )

I don't even consider RC pillion seat as a 'seat'.
But Kawasaki is any time a Win Win.

As everyone above suggested, N300 it is. RC390 is a vfm but the pillion seat is too small. Go for a test ride on an RC and experience it. But when you can afford 3.5 lacs, I guess you be able to stretch for another 40k. You won't regret the decision.

Further if you are too tied up to a budget of 3.5 lacs, you could get an used N300. Man, a twin is a twin. You are gonna love it.

RC 390 is bang for every single buck you spend on it. But since you have a budget of 3.5 lakh, why would you want to sit with a singly cylinder bike sacrificing the pillion comfort. On the other hand Ninja 300 falls on a different league of bikes with a twin cylinder engine, and at the same time offering great comfort band with an enhanced fuel tank capacity.
And Ninja 300 appeals much better to the eye than the other two. (It is completely a personal opinion. No offence)

As for Yamaha R25 goes, even if you are inclined towards it, kindly go through the ownership reviews from abroad (like Indonesia where it got released), before making a decision. Because 3.5 lakh is big deal of money and invest it wisely.

Still hearty wishes in selecting your perfect ride.
                        The ride defines it..!!!
