Hello guys this is my second post i will keep it short
i need help in selecting first bike for me
budget is around 2.5 lakhs main usage would be in city and occasional highways
i am 18 and 6ft tall and weigh 62 kgs

any advice would be valuable

I saw the list in your previous post and also your budget and intended use figures. Now my question is. What is your total riding experience?

Because if you are new to riding I would suggest getting something which is powerful but not too powerful.

The bikes you listed are way too powerful brother and unsuitable as learner or amateur riding bikes, they need a degree of control which is not easily learnt. So if you can answer my question I'll list bikes accordingly.

But off the top of my head I'd suggest the duke 200 or RC 200, karizma zmr, p200NS and RE classic 350.

Of these you should test ride classic 350 to get a fair idea if whether you'll be able to handle raw power. Classic is the mist mellow of the raw power class of bikes.
You can check out r15 but its just not very comfy for the city (that's my personal view of course and doesn't mean the bike is bad) but don't go for cbr 250 yet as the company seems to be on the path of replacing it with the cbr 300.

7. City & Highway percentage= if you know delhi its mostly all highways and sometimes they are empty sometimes they are filled with traffic. soo highway50% city50%
8. Approximate Daily/Monthly running=i would be riding for pleasure so and pland to do weekends rides as well as touring
9. City / Town /Village of residence= i live in sarojini nagar, south delhi ,Delhi
10. Brand / Bike type preference=i like bikes with fairing more
I've been riding activa scooty for 4 years now and from last year or two i think I've learned a thing or two about bikes and i am obsessed with them now and i i do miss power all the time when i ride my scooty even though I've done a little bit of touring on it but now i think I've outgrown it. lack of power is just killing me
i do think ninja 300 is the best beginner bike,also i am not able to afford it

i understand that but if we look at the European market a 250cc motor i thought be ideal for beginners who intend to reach the litre segment (like me)
i do not have much experience in ridding bike and i currently ride a activa scooty.and your opinion makes complete sense
but i do think I will tame a 200cc bike pretty and would crave for more power in a year or soo but i wouldn't be able to ugrade for for 4 years atleast
soo i neeed a bike for 4 years
i think only rc390 or duke 390 would be able to satisfy my cravings for more power in the long run

I think you should start with 180-200 cc category bikes because of less riding experience and when you are experienced then you can upgraded to higher segments.
From my experience i would suggest you R15 or pulsar 200 ns both these bikes will teach you alot and comes under your budget for remaining money you can invest in good riding gears.

but i will not be able to ugrade for 4 years and i think 200cc bike would not be loved by me after a year or two because i would crave more power

Thanks for the kind words. I'm still in the learning process and xBHP has helped me a lot in this process.
For your requirements, I'd suggest you to go with CBR250(ABS) or Duke 390(since you are looking for 200CC+).
CBR250 has the big bike feel, very refined engine and decent touring capabilities. Comfort will never be an issue.
Duke 390 on the other hand is powerful, fast and easy to ride solo.
If you ask me, I'd advice you CBR250. Duke390 will surely be a very powerful machine to handle.
We don't have any confirmed launch date yet for CBR300 or HX250. So, can't comment on that as of now.

Yeah I get that. I had an Rx100 in the beginning from 2001 onwards and then in 2007 I wanted a bike which was quite powerful but I'm glad I got a unicorn instead.
You see no matter how good you are you must start with 100-200cc bikes first then graduate to 300-500cc bikes and then finally get a litre class bike.
You might be thinking that you can handle a 390 easily but even after 16years of riding and experiencing all bikes from 100-250cc I found that I was power sliding in low gears for the first month of owning a duke 390. Its not so easy when you go from nimble 100-110cc gearless bikes to a 44bhp geared monster.
And therefore I suggest you get a duke 200 or if you like a machine with refinement you can try to get a cbr250 (can't guarantee availability). It will be a good starter platform.
Also the European roads and standards are way better and thus it makes sense for them to have a 390 or 500cc bike as a beginner motorcycle but you know that's not the case with India.
