• First Love's gone..time to move on?

I would have celebrated my first bike Pulsar 150's first anniversary this august, instead I couldn't....because it was Stolen this March
I had parked it right down my house( I live in the 2nd floor), and it got stolen in broad daylight (probably around 2 pm)!!

FIR's and lame police work did me no good (of course) and after playing 'office-office' with the Insurance Co. for 3 months, I got the insurance amount Rs 62k for the 75K

After days of misery and pain ( I used to think of her every day, seriously) , I finally got some closure now, and I have decided to move on.

I would appreciate some advice on
a. If I do buy a new one, how can I feel secure this time? I have a garage ( should have used this option the first time, my f**king remorseful bad), but I don't know if its my raving paranoia but I don't think its dificult for whoever motherf*king person it is to break the lock open as well...and all this is NOT counting some other 3rd place...

Please advice me on the best stuff I can use to lock the bike securely.

b. What Bike. I could put another 20k ( my parents don't feel so sure about me spending a lot more this time, you know what I mean) and maybe (maybe) go for the Pulsar 220 or I could settle in for the Pulsar 150 again...Although I don't know how I would feel riding it again( if anyone's have had a similar unfortunate experience, please do share your feelings).

Or how about the FZ-S this time maybe?

If someone could share the latest price(all inclusive) on all bikes between 62k to 85k, I would really appreciate it. I will be calling showrooms, but I would like to have a figure in my mind for creating the final budget.

P.S. If it helps, I'm 21, 6 feet, 80-ish kg, pursuing CA

Thats unfortunate and the police being the same.. Not doing anything..
well.. Now that you want to buy a new one.. Better get a upgrade for 150cc
P220 would be good.. And also the ns200

Ride safe and have fun.

Re: First Love's gone..time to move on?

62K+20K = 82K

200NS is more like a 100K, so get that off your chest first.

The FZ will feel slightly(and i mean very very very slightly) less powerful than the P150.
So if you want more power, go for the 220.

Re: First Love's gone..time to move on?

First of all. very unfortunate to hear the sad news. I know how much you would have loved the bike.. indeed, we are guys and our first love after our parents are bikes..

well.. you have various locks to safe guard your vehicle and one of them would be the disc lock..

Now coming to the bike under your budget.. you can definitely go for the P220, but consider the fact that you will never get the FE as you were getting on a 150cc bike and the fact that the bike will be more powerful and might even tempt you to ride at higher speeds and go crazy..

why haven't you considered the Apache 180/ P180.. they will fall under your budget (depending on where you stay and how you negotiate)

Re: First Love's gone..time to move on?

Firstly sorry to hear you lost your bike and indeed it's a bad incident. . . Now it's time to move on. . . Considering that you don't want to spend more, I think from your option FZ seems a good buy for that price, . . If you still don't like to spend even a paisa more than what you have now, I mean the insurance amount, better go for some used 220, you'll get it for that price, only if you are interested or else instead of pulsar 150, I think the FZ or the new trigger is good. . . Now coming to safety features, you get so much in the market nowadays, let me just list a few,
1. Safety lock, I mean something like the ones used in cars, when you have locked it and go and if anyone just touches your bike, it starts beeping, I saw this installed on a guy's bike in my college previously, that's cool. . .
2. Cable lock, I don't think it's so much reliable nowadays, so just keep it aside. . .
3. Fork lock,

ID:	1857635 Just like the one in the pic, it's kinda cheap from a safety lock point of view, costing you around 250-300rs and very effective one, once it's fastened to the front wheel, the thief has to do circus to vain to get it out, he should either remove the wheel or or cut the fork itself. . .
4. Disc lock, I have heard about this but never really tried one or seen. . . Just see if any one else can help you out in this. . .

Cheers!!!

Honda Unicorn - 2012 - 2015 (crashed)

Very sorry to hear that new bro!
I understand your feelings because I can resonate mine with it.

Since u asked to share.....

It was my dad's first vehicle purchased all by himself.... n we got this Kinetic scotter that time in... I was in standard 1 or so...

Some prick took her out from the parking just outside of our main door which had around 4-5 ft high wall... :what::what::what::what::what::banghead::banghead:

Irony of the situation, the insurance had expired a few days back and dad realized it wen he got to the insurance company for settlement. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

All they said was about their policies....

We couldn't find her!!!!!

Hmmm... thats that...

But you gotta move on...

@HyperRetard and nadz- Yeah, 200ns is definitely off the table, I asked a friend of mine who had recently bought it and said it was for 100k proper, like you said.

@
rreneav1987 & Rakesh- Thanks for those valuable suggestions. I will definitely ask around for those and try to gain more info on them and exactly how secure they are.
Valkyrie- Sorry to hear about that bro. The feeling that hits later that the bike/scooter was stolen right under our nose is unbearable...I mean if this isn't 'safe', then what is??

I'm starting to wonder if 220 IS in my budget after all. I checked bajaj's website and in Delhi, its for 82k ex showroom. Now, add around 8-10k and I get a figure in the early 90s. (damn, i can almost see my dream shattered!!) Correct me if I'm wrong here..
rreneav1987- About P180. I didn't consider it the last time either because I heard it from a previous P150 owner(good friend) that it doesn't have kick start. Winters(if and when they happen) are harsh here in Delhi sometimes and self start doesn't work sometimes. Now these are rare scenarios, but still it's good to have a backup.

Anyway, I will try persuading my parents to go for the 220 because I don't know but somehow I'm getting hooked on to it day by day P150 is like 'trying to have a relationship after getting broken off' FZ's there too.... let's see , I have a serious couple of weeks of brainstorming ahead of me

True that the P180 doesn't have kick start.. even the P220 doesn't and even the FZ doesn't.. But you shouldn't be worried about that as most of the bikes these days don't come with kick start...

Test Ride the RTR 180, it has enough power and grunt.. not the new version but the old version..

PS. I stay in Delhi NCR and I know how the climate is

Re: First Love's gone..time to move on?

Rtr 180, the newer version looks pathetic with its stupid headlights... I didn't like it al all! The classic look, the previous version is the best. I checked the OTR price and its around 85k..more or less in the budget...so I'll keep it in the list.

Btw, @ Rakesh -- On further scrutiny, the fork lock looks more like gear lock, doesnt it? It works on the same principle, right?
Edit: Wait a sec, it's the one used in atlas cycles, hai na?
