Confused between - Pulsar 180 / Hero xtreme sports / Unicorn 160 / Fz fi version 2

    Confused between - Pulsar 180 / Hero xtreme sports / Unicorn 160 / Fz fi version 2

    Hello folks,
    Its me again.Hope you have read my previous threads regarding buying a bike.I was almost fixed to buy R15 ,but later changed after the test ride because of riding posture & pillion seat issue.

    After that I have decided to go for Pulsar 180 (almost fixed).Even I confirmed everything with dealer.At that time two new products entered the market . One is Xtreme sports and other is Unicorn 160.Even I have a second thought going for Fz Version 2 (fuel injection is a big attraction).

    So shortlisted are -

    1.Pulsar 180 (new look pulsar is absolutely mind blowing.10 years of proven excellence).

    2.Xtreme sports ( The product is displayed in the website very recently.Colors,Features and looks are big plus.Atlast a good looking product from Hero)

    3.Unicorn 160 (Legend Unicorn is reborn in new avatar & the brand name Honda is enough to consider seriously)

    4. Fz fi (Not that much interested but Ok product considering fuel injection in such a price range)

    Gixxer I am not considering because Suzuki dealers are not that much good in my area.

    So what is your call guys ? I need a bike which is easy to handle (as I am living in city area),decent perfomance(I am not a racing enthusiast),looks(most important) & ok type of mileage.

    The CB Unicorn 160 is commuter through and through. The FZ Fi is far sportier in comparison
    Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

      Just Test Ride all the bike and decide. I think Pulsar has lost it. I was never a fan of bajaj and wont be in future. Within months the bike starts to give all kind of horror sound. Without looking you can tell a pulsar is coming with the chain noise.

      CB unicorn is a good bike if you are looking for comfort and the looks are just extremely outdated.

      NO idea about xtreme.

      NOw coming to Yamaha FZS FI. i own the bike so i might be bit biased. It has been 4months now. And i have clocked 4000kms. Max mileage i could get is 58km/lt
      and worse being 54kmpl/ltrs. Next is the looks which will make heads turn. I own(Astral Blue) . Ride quality is good and bike is at its best at 65-75kms/hr. once you cross 85-90 it loose bit power. But still you can cruise at 100 without much issue.

        Outdated bike with average performance.

        2.Xtreme sports ( The product is displayed in the website very recently.Colors,Features and looks are big plus.Atlast a good looking product from Hero)

        Finally a good looking facelift from hero, again it is based on a dated platform with 10 kilo extra weight but it has good looks, powerful engine, proven track record, reliability. If you are ok with its looks and you want the most powerful air-cooled 150cc engine which revs like crazy(as per my experience with xtreme, I am assuming to be better than before as it is more powerful and torquey)you can go with it.

        3.Unicorn 160 (Legend Unicorn is reborn in new avatar & the brand name Honda is enough to consider seriously)

        This is the bike with almost everything except looks which are boring but this engine can do everything one can wish from a 150cc bike. Honda has made this engine drivable rather than outright performer and that is why it will breath easily on highways in comparison to others as it is a long stroke motor with long fifth gear which will give it good top speed(considering the fact that it is the 2nd lightest bike on your list) and that too in relaxed manner. I think it can hit 100 at around 7000rpm mark which shows it can act as a good touring machine for a biker on budget.

        4. Fz fi (Not that much interested but Ok product considering fuel injection in such a price range)

        Without doubt FZ is the best looking motorcycle with best in class mileage and handling but performance is not that good if compared to the other bikes on the list. If you want looks, handling and economy, fz is the bike for you.

          +1 for the above post.
          Take test rides of all the shortlisted bikes and then choose the one that suits you the best.
          Feel free to ask any other query regarding a particular bike..

            Thanks for your suggestions.. Anyway thing is that I am really impressed with the looks and features of Xtreme sports.. But I am cocerned about Hero's current reliability &quality of their products..Whether they are maintaining the same standard of previous Hero Honda...
