I'm not sure what will suit me best
I do want to have a bike with good top speed but have to drive in city heavy traffic too most of the time. So I want something that could be best in both ways like all-rounder types
And yeah I do sometimes travel longer distance around 100kms at a stretch so it MUST be comfortable
Pulsar 200ns is a gem of an all-rounder. You should consider it.

Re: Help me choose my 1st bike

I'd suggest you Gixxer,Karizma or FZ2.0. All of them are good and comfortable for a new rider. Can do reasonable top speeds. Believe me you will very rarely need to go above 80-90 kmph within city limits. Later on you can graduate to a more powerful bike like P400(will hopefully be launched this year) or RC390.

Re: Help me choose my 1st bike

          +1 for the above post.
Go for FZ V2 if your budget allows it. It has a butter smooth, reliable engine, Yamaha build quality, fit and finish are second to none. It is perfect bike for beginners.

Go for Gixxer if you have a limited budget, the bike is very good with fresh new looks. good handler and easy rider.

Karizma will be a bit more powerful and a relaxed riding machine.Looks are subjective and if you like it, it will server you well.

Take test rides of the one you've shortlisted and then decide.

Re: Help me choose my 1st bike

If this is yoir first bike and your budget is upto 1.5 then go for Duke200. Its the best bike there is considering the value for money, mileage, maintainance, looks, comfort and smoothness. No other bike in that price range comes close. FZs and Gixxer150 are all commuter bikes. If you really don't want to spend money thwn go for these. If you believe there is a rider in you, go for Duke200.

            PS: Don't compare KTM Duke200 with Pulsar200NS.

The ns is a new product from bajaj. Its a way better than what they have build earlier. Its the platform on which the newer bikes aka 400 ss & others will emerge.

Re: Help me choose my 1st bike

'Based on a bike' is a very superficial comment. Yes, p200ns and duke200 practically share the same engine yet these are two very different bikes. Very noticiable differences are Duke has fuel injection, inverted forks, is 10-12 kms lighter and has a wider section tyre. There are more differences but i guess you get my drift.

I am not saying NS is a bad bike but for a 6.1Feet guy who wants flaunt value with a bit of long term usage and has a higher budget Duke fits suitably. And believe me it is purely my opinion as i don't know the likes and dislikes personally.
