  • Suggest 99-125 cc bike

    1. Budget : 50-65k

    6. Fuel Efficiency : Mileage is top priority 55+km/l

    10. Brand / Bike type preference (if any) : Hero because of durability, and cheap maintenance but open to suggestions

Had earlier finalized Honda Shine but opted out because of costlier spare parts and not reliable in long run.

Already own a Splender NXG at home, and reliability is very different from old Hero Honda splendor
    No bajaj.
Looks of bike is least priority for me.
How about Hero Glamour or Passion xPro.
And this time I would love a bit more power than splendour.

+1 from me. Not because I own one but I really feel this is a very well-built bike just like the Crux. I have extensively travelled to some of the worst roads in Bengal - but no complains yet.
Basically sub-150 cc bikes from Yamaha suffer from under-exposure. Yamaha focuses too much on 150ccs IMO.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

+1 for Yamaha 125SS, being a owner of 2 Yams, I can personally vouch for the build quality, reliability and niggle free ownership.
Service centers are good, and listen to the problems of the customer and fix them.

If you want Hero motocorp, new Glamour with fuel injected engine is very good. You seem to have more than enough experience with hero service centers, so no comments on that.
Take test rides of both the bikes, and then choose the one that suits you the best.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Even i go with what others are saying. Yamaha is a better option any day man ! I have been using yamaha ybx 125 since 1999 without any problems. I have covered more than 1.5 lac kms !! The same legacy and workmanship has been passed on to current models. Here you have 2 options, Yamaha ss125 or yamaha ybr 125. Both are good.

            Cheers

Check passion Xpro. This has same engine from Honda Dream Yuga/Neo and looks similar or better than Passion Pro. Engine is 110cc and definitely has more punch than Splendor.

YBR110 is a good bike. I recently booked this bike for my dad, It has kick -start and ES option as well, drum brakes, This bike likes it best when driven under 50kmph. So you get a FE of 55+ kmpl in city. The rear shocks are setup to take city bumpy roads.

Try a TD and see it, you might like it too..OTR is around 55k

                            Pros:
Glamour is a good bike for sedate riders.
Pillion comfort is good. Not meant for long rides though.
                            Availability of spare parts.
                            Hero's nationwide network.
Has a no-fuss feel about itself.
12 litre tank means lesser visits to the bunk for a commuter.

                            Cons:
Some users have complained about stickers coming out after 1.5-2 years.
Power is comparatively less for a 125cc. Not so good to ride after 60 kmph.
FE tends to drop over a period of time.
Gear shifting sometimes can cause trouble - specially between the first and second.
If you have a pillion or need to go against the slop, bike struggles.
Front shock absorbers and headlight is not up to the mark.
This is a personal feeling - no exclusivity as there are plenty all around.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.
