    4. Any other inspection point while collecting the bike. Dealer saying that bike will be manufactured in 2015.
The eurogrips can be replaced right after buying the bike. Basically its an exchange of your current tyres (in showroom condition) with new set of tyres from the tyre shop, and you have to pay the money after subtracting the cost of the tyre you just exchanged. Does that make any sense??

What you do is go to a tyre shop and fix a deal before hand, that you will sell a set of brand new eurogrips to the shop (expect a bit of depreciation) and buy a new set tyres of your choice form the same shop. So the shop owner will just subtract the cost of your eurogrips form the cost of MRFs or Pirellies. And you have to pay only that extra amount.

It is recommended to fix a deal before taking the bike out of the showroom, because the more you ride on your eurogrips, the less money the tyre shop will offer you for them, hence you'll have to pay more for it. It also helps coz you know exactly where to take your bike for exchange and so you dont have to ride around on your showroom tyres searching for the tyre shop.

    The inspections include.

check the bike for fit and finish, paint quality and scratches.
check the odometer reading (it should be less than 10 kms). If it is more than 10-12 kms it might have been used as a test ride vehicle.
start the bike and let it idle, check the idle RPM, headlight, tail lights, indicators, horn etc.
check the engine oil level, brake oil level and coolant level.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

      All,

      Thank you for the help.

Yesterday I went to book the bike and saw that bike have eurogrip installed. After a little bit discussion, dealer agreed to change the tire to MRF. I hope he keeps the word. He also agreed for one teflon coat but couldnt convince him for center stand.

Bike have only 2 km on the odometer.

One question though, one bike on display had the key in so I tried to start it but seems like battery was nearly dead. Dealer said this because of long time sitting of bike in showroom and it will be alright once you push the bike for 15-20 ft. I heard that these are maintenance free batteries with no recharge required. Specially with no kickstart, I am little bit scared on this point. Can someone tell me if its normal?

Just check the year of manufacture of the bike with the dealer to make sure it's not 2014

Re: Inazuma no longer the option: Hence the question... what bike?

Thank you all for helping me to choose Bajaj 200NS. Here is my duty to provide First Impressions..........

Received my Pulsar 200NS on Monday. Some prologue,
          • Booked 200NS through GSM Bajaj, Gurgaon. On the day of delivery, person crashed the vehicle while bringing from showroom. Showroom guy was nice enough to cancel the booking and agreed to return deposit since I was adment on having black color and they have none.
          • Then I contacted Krishna Bajaj, another Bajaj dealer in city and they informed me that one truck is unloading on monday. Went there in the evening and they had a black 200NS ready for me. Paid in cash and all paperwork done in half an hour.
          • Received bike had 0 km on Odo and the manufacturing date was in March 2015. Checked the preliminary things and looked ok except did not see engine oil level. Mechanic then made the pulsar stand straight and then could some oil level, just above min mark.
          • Bike came with MRF RevZs in front and back.
          • Dealer gave a free helmet but did not have center stand in stock.
          • Paid 102936 INR for bike, RC and 1 year insurance. Insured amount is ~87000 INR. Dealer said that the price goes down by 5% as soon as vehicle comes on road. Weird.

Completed just 60 km on ODO. Now first impressions,

Lets get out bad impressions first,
          • Thank god I am 5"10'. But my father had difficult time getting on the pillion seat. Mostly I will drive alone so it doesn't really matter.
          • It is difficult to drive 200NS in crawling speed. Specially in run in period.
          • It is short geared and gear itself are not as smooth (specially upshifting 3 and 4) as expected. Hopefully this will sort out in first servicing.
          • Need seat cushion and hand grip as soon as possible.
          • Turning radius higher than expected.

I am in run in period so will reserve some good impressions for later date. First few,
          • Though its old model, I still love the looks. I actually dont care about looks etc but I have to make exception for 200NS.
          • I am pretty positive that ride quality will be excellent after getting seat cushion and handgrip. Even now its very good.
          • Handling is very good.
          • Braking does give confidence. My reference is 2010 yamaha FZ.
          • Linear power delivery

Run in points that I am following:
          • Wait for 1 min after starting the vehicle for engine warmup and lubrication.
          • I am trying to keep the RPM below 4000 before 500 km (5000 for km 500-1000). usually vary RPM between 2500 to 3500. I am not watching the speed much. But once RPM crosses 3000, change gear. Its simpler than remembering the Bajaj speed chart.
          • Stopping bike every 15-20 km for cooloff. Driving on city roads.
          • Planning to do first oil and oil filter change at 200 km.
          • Noticeable vibrations at speed 30-40 km/hr. More pronounced at foot pegs.

Planning to visit Korol Bagh this weekend to look for,
          • Helmet: Studds scorpion or Vega Axor. Can spend up to 4000 but so many fake's are circulating for LS2 etc so feels like settling on indian brand.
          • Seat Cushion and hand grip
          • Some Tyre stickers
