  • Decided to go for Pulsar 200 NS, good?

After a plenty of bikes and sorting, now there is only 2 bikes in front... FZ S V2 and the Pulsar 200 NS. i had ridden FZ a lot... But, i want something awesome machine. And according to my budget the only beast there is the NS200. The thing is, i'm just above 5.6 tall and i heard a lot of guys saying the NS200 is heavy too. so can i go for the beast or for the old buddy FZ (Version 2). I can easily ride a R15 and i love to ride my friends pulsar 180, i had done many trips in that p180 too.
So my fellow riders, suggest me one.

    Approved!

P200NS is heavier than other street naked from the likes of Yamaha, but it isn't as heavy as people make it sound like.
My friend less than 5 feet 4 rides a Karizma, which is 150 odd kgs in weight.

    You'll adjust to it soon.

Still, let other members put across their thoughts.

IMO, FZ is lighter, faster and easy to maneuver, go for it man, you will have lot of fun !!

If you love to ride in city, the FZ is a better bike due to its torque at low and mid range. But touring is a complete bore as it can become out of breath at speeds post 90. NS is an all rounder in this price point and can handle both city and highway runs with ease. The main drawback in city use of NS is that it's slightly bigger than FZ making it little difficult to maneuver through traffic. Fz, for sure, is fun when intended purely for city aand light touring use. But the NS is a better package and vfm.

200 NS is a good bike for that price range. It's truly a value for money bike. You will not regret your choice. FZ v2 FI is also a good buy, as its from Yamaha's stable and has got fuel injection. Has beter all round quality. But not much power. So the ultimate decision lies with you.
It's not about how hard you get hit... It's about how hard you get hit and just keep moving forward.

Your story may not have such a happy beginning... But that doesn't make you who you are... It is the rest of your story... Who you chose to be.

Go for FZ if you want a super refined fuel injected engine and top notch build quality and fit and finish.

Go for NS if you want a powerful monster that will give a huge grin on your face.

Choose the one that suits you the best.

If you didn't face any problems with P180 in terms of weight then NS won't be a problem at all. I ride both NS & FZ V1. There is no doubt that in traffic, FZ is more comfortable & easy to handle but NS is no major pain.
Also, kindly check the quality of SVC in your area before buying. SVC with poor mechanics can seriously ruin your NS. Chances of that happening with FZ would be comparatively less.

                      Hello riders,

Thanks for the suggestions, I bought The NS finally in 10th April 2015. Awesome bike so far except some minor problems.
Most bad one is the bike had a overflow which ruined my trip. The petrol was leaking from the pipe on rightside, it's leaking whenever i turn on pertrol. when i contacted the service guys, they said "The overflow will stop when you ride further. So, drive it to service station, we will check" and that went well.
Now, I noticed a smell coming from the engine area like a rubber burning. its very noticable when you are in a signal and the air from engine hits your face. I also notice a change in engine sound and the tapping sound is much faster than before.

Is it serious? What could be the possible reasons? Experts please help me out..

                            Hi ankur2smart,

I bought the NS finally, you are 100% right about the poor mechanics. My main showroom with SVC was ~15KM from my place. So, for the first service i decided to give to another bajaj service center near my place which is a branch of the main showroom, I thought they are good@work but they turn it into a crap.. lot of problems sounds from the brakes, petrol overflow and more. Ever since then i only give my bike to main showroom. They did a good work. My bike now didn't have any problems now.

                            Thanks,

Even if you have no option, then don't give to any SVC for the sake of giving it. These Bajaj SVC are so talented. You have no idea. They can screw up your bike nicely.
Great to know you have a good option. Happy riding.
