  • Need an advice to get 2nd bike

Hi... xbhpians... This is my 1st thread...

I am a field executive so my daily communte is around 60-80kms and weekend trips. Overall it goes sumwhr around 2400+ Kms monthly. currently suzuki gs150r is doing the job greatly for me. It got low maintenance too. Crossed 60000+ kms and till now shock abs r in condition, infact tyres r still gud. Given time to time service at authorised center only. Now i want to change my ride. Those are my requirements :

    1. Comfortable ride (as you see i ride too much so need a bike with good shock absorbers)
    2. Low Maintenance (as i dont get time to go garage now and then or to look after the mechanics)
    3. Budget under 2lakhs with F.E. Of around 30kmpl+

I like the retb350. It looks great, sturdy, massive and yeah got a status on road. Heart goes for this bull but got mixed suggestions about it. I mean some says it will give maintenance. Some have issues regarding after sales service, some have oil leakges. One guy also said that i will face major issues in monsoon.

please guide me. I luv this machine but if maintenance is an issue then i wont buy bcoz will not get time to tweak it all d time. Or should i wait for UM Renegade Commando?

I can't imagine any RE fitting your requirements.

More of the same, or the Unicorn 160 would be far more appropriate according to me.

Also, please do not use SMS language on the Forum, it is against the rules. Thanks
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

A CBR 250R with ABS will suit all your requirements.
It is a very comfortable bike, so your daily travel will not be a pain in the back or shoulders.
It has a very smooth and reliable honda engine, that can run all day without any complains. The liquid cooling helps a great deal in keeping the engine at low temperatures.
It is a very capable and proven tourer, so week end trips will is a lot of fun.
It has ABS so it is safe.
It is very very reliable and you dont have to do anything besides the regular servicing.

Take a test ride and then decide.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Well, RE is not advisable because REs are not known for their reliability or niggle free ownership.
With an RE anything and everything can go wrong at any time. The quality of parts used is not that good.
2 of my co workers own them and they get oil leaks, snapped cables in the middle of journey, leaky heads, rusting and countless other problems.
So you have a risk of getting stranded in the middle of the journey. And the authorized service center dosent help, they are least interested in listening to the customer's problems and do nothing to fix it. So if you get an RE make sure to have your sundays free to take it to the mechanic.

If you can get a low mileage Honda cbr250 ABS , it will be choice because it's really refined , pretty comfortable , reliable, good for touring and daily use . It will give around 30-35kmpl .

But if you want a new bike then honda unicorn 160 is perfect for you

May be late but if you still deciding then you should go for Royal Enfield but you must know check thoroughly before taking delivery. As you mentioned, you don't wish to spend time on the machine then RE should not be taken. There are rumors of oil leak and all but with new engine it far more better. It gives you a hell of a ride but it would demand timely care. Otherwise also, if you don't give timely attention to any bike regardless of the company... You bound to invite maintenance... Ride hard and safe.

Go for CBR 250 ABS. Suits all your requirements and Honda engines are always reliable.

The CBR250R would suit all your needs perfectly as sanjay said. Alternatively you could also look at Duke 200, or if your budget can be extended by about 25k- the Duke 390.
