  • Need a suggestion for choose my new bike

Hi to all fellow riders. This is sivakumar from bangalore. Till now I had two bikes. In late 2011 I bought apache rtr 160 and last year I bought pulsar 200ns. For riding posture is not comfort so I changed my apache. I feel good except some skid courtesy tvs tyre's. In pulsar 200ns I feel I'm under utilising her because I normally ride at a speed of 50 to 70kmph in city. Suspension also not as I'm expected because it's very rigid. Clutch is very hard to use in city traffic. Please suggest a bike mainly riding in city traffic with pillion rider. I'm 5 feet 5 inch tall. 80 kg of weight. My main expectation in comfort and handling. I have fzs v2 in my mind. Budget around 1.20 lakh. Please suggest. Thanks in advance. Sorry to not making it in order.

    Query Approved

I don't think it makes any sense to sell off your NS to buy another bike for those requirements!

But if you have checked out the FZ, then do have a look at the Unicorn 160 (commuterish) or Gixxer 155 (Slightly Sporty).

Though sticking with the NS would make sense as per me! All the best

Get your NS fixed and stick to it. Getting a third bike for the reasons you have mentioned is a waste of money. NS has adjustable suspension and clutch issue can be fixed easily at the service station.

Anyways if you want to go ahead and get a new 150-160cc bike, I would suggest the GIXXER. But remember that these machines will feel underpowered after getting used to NS. However, for city riding these bikes (FZ, Gixxer and Uni160) make more sense.

As others said, stick to 200NS. It's a fantastic bike.

GIXXER has a fantastic smooth engine with almost zero vibes. FZ V2 is good but will feel terribly underpowered as you're used to 200NS.

If you want a bike for city use with good handling and comfort , go for the honda unicorn 160.
But don't sell your ns200, just get it fixed .

After using Pulsar 200NS, any bike even in the same/lesser category would definitely feel under powered. However, I feel that you are getting back ache because of your speed in Bangalore city and not because of the bike. Make a wise choice by repairing your 200NS and using it again. And if you really feel that you need a new bike then I would suggest Yamaha FZ with FI or Suzuki Gixxer. Again, with speeds you are talking about, I am not pretty sure that the new bike is going to solve your back ache.

Selling off a pretty good bike and then spending money to buy something less powerful would not be a good choice to make. There is nothing that a good tuning up cant fix. get the suspension adjusted to your liking and ask the service station guys to make the clutch a bit smooth. It should solve the problem.

If you have made up your mind to get a new one.. go for Gixxer or Unicorn 160. Both of them will fit your requirements.

Take test rides and then decide.

You should probably make your own query thread rather than posting here.
