Ninja is a no-no. Don't get bit by the sports bike bug. City rides on Ninja is a little uncomfortable. Especially in stop go traffic. And Ninja has stiff suspension and any mild undulations on the road will cause discomfort. Ninja is fantastic reliable bike for long rides with high speed cruising ability on good roads. And maintenance cost of Ninja is far higher than the other bikes suggested (Even more than CBR). So do consider that.

HX250 will take time. Rumours suggest June or July. But in my opinion will take until Diwali. Even if launched earlier, it would be better for the bike to have its run in the market for a while before jumping into the first batch of vehicles.

If you really want a powerful faired bike compatible with city rides, go for CBR250R. It is probably going to be off showrooms soon. So you should get a good deal.

It will be off showrooms soon and that is why I don't want to buy CBR250R. There will be lot of challenges like scarcity of spares later.

The 200 series pulsars are a different breed altogether then the earlier pulsars. It is much more reliable. Yes, there are some vibrations but I feel it is something that can easily be ignored. Be it NS, RS or AS you will not regret the buy. The only difference in between these bike is the FI system.

Thanks for your feedback and comments. RS200 is definitely on top of my list. I was looking into RS200 owners thread and go to know that there are vibrations in handle and tank section. Is this an isolated case which I can treat as is it advised that I wait for couple of months (which I dont want to). I dont want to consider AS200 unless there is a serious problem with RS200.

I am not a big fan of naked bikes, so 200NS may not fit into my list (though its rated the best bike in the segment). However, the option to consider a used Ninja 250/300 actually rang a bell in my mind.

What about Hero HX250? Is it still a distant dream?
IMO, It is too early to comment on vibes of RS200 since most of the RS must be in running-in period. It can be best evaluated for it post this period. So far there are no vibes in Tank or fairing as reported by couple of owners. I believe it to be specific cases. I live in a city with worst road conditions. Vibes on handle are there but very minimum which i believe is there on any other bike too. Since I have very little or no ride experience of other same segment bikes, my opinion in this regard may be wrong.

The reason for me suggesting a used Ninja is that it's a truly sub 300cc premium vibe-free bike. There are few negative factors with it too like suggested by fellow member. Every bike you consider will have one or other trade-offs. It is you who have to make a decision setting your priorities right and factoring what compromises you may live-in with.

As far as reliability of pulsars is concerned, the newer batch(NS,AS,RS) is way ahead of earlier gen models. Heck, the 200 NS is better peace of mind compared to the Duke 200! I would suggest go for the RS if you liked it so much. The AS is also a great choice for an all rounder, but I feel you will be happiest with the RS.
Hello, I have been a keen follower of some of the ownership threads for the past month. I stay in Delhi and my usage would be a to and fro 30km ride to office maybe twice a week max (office cab on other days ) and a lot of weekend driving. Also, i plan on taking long rides on highways once a month, once it cools down a bit here. Just to clarify that roads in delhi are pretty good.

I have this affinity towards faired bikes as well as cruisers, due to which I shortlisted the RS200 and RC200. (I have a thing for the thunderbird 350 as well, but reading all about the rusting issues and oil leaks and high maintenance have scared me). the dealers here wont give a test ride on the rs200. I have absolutely loved the RC200, ridden a friends bike a few times. however, long rides (300km a day) may be a problem (as ive read on posts everywhere). the RS however feels the most vfm, made for the typical indian and feels a balanced bike. If bajaj only made it a little more sharp in looks, nd not this bloated, i wud have probably bought it by now.

Any suggestions ? as per my riding requirements, which will be the better bike, (rc being 40k costlier). also, i am 5feet8, hit the gym regularly and consider myself fairly fit(in regards to back and wrist pains on RC)

It looks like your mind says RS200 and your heart says RC! Well, since your usage is not that much I think you should listen to your heart and go for the RC. I have used the Duke 200 for a daily commute of 56 kms for 2 years and hence faced couple of maintenance issues. But I feel with the improved RC, weekend runs and thrill rides should be hassle free.

Plus you seem to prefer the RC's looks over the RS. Remember, when you buy a bike and do not look back at it in admiration, atleast twice after parking it, you got the wrong one!

yes i do prefer rc looks over rs...(who dosent :P) ... and you were spot-on in saying that rs- mind and rc-heart..... have been debating on this for the last month, and still confused... the rc being 40k costlier dosent help either...

what are the possible reliability issues i might expect on the ktm ??

and how costly/frequent are the ktm services, after the free services are over ??

KTM bikes will always charge a premium over their bajaj counterparts. That's the business strategy! It's you as the customer who wants to go for a niche-placed KTM or a VFM looking Bajaj.

For issues faced by RC200 owners, head over to the ownership thread - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...ce-thread.html

I guess after the free services, the service intervals are at 10k kms. Again the owners can give you a correct idea about RC200 service costs.

From your replies I sense that you just need a push to buy an RC. Just go ahead and book one.

Any bike that you buy will have pros and cons. The bikes under your radar have already been tested, reviewed and rated as very good machines.

I saw an RS200 today on road which stopped next to me in a signal and it sounded way better than the bike I tested. Looking forward to get the delivery of my bike. The showroom guys are telling me that it will take atleast 10 days more.
