• Japanese v/s American v/s Italian

Dear riders,

The rider in me is getting up from a deep slumber of over a decade.

And while I was enjoying the comforts of four-wheelers, lots has changed in the two-wheeler segment in India with riders having an array of bikes to choose from.

Though my personal favorite will always be a Busa, but owing to gaining wisdom and greying (hair), comfort has taken over speed.

So as I pour my heart out, am feeling a confused as an infant in a topless bar!

Yes I have zeroed down on the fact that naked albeit street bikes are what I am looking at and to start with 600cc+ would be what I want to tame before upgrading.

Furthermore Harley Street is off my list, havent checked Suzuki CB600R yet, leaving me to choose between Kawasaki ER-6N, Triumph Street Triple and Benelli TNT 600i.

While ER-6N is not available for test rides and there none in Ahmedabad yet, am trying out Triple this weekend.

Personally, I love the mean looks of ER-6N and find it VFM. However being a believer of the expression that at times appearances are deceptive AND topping it with the fact that am totally naive when it comes to technical aspects of a mean machine, am reaching out to my comrades here to enlighten and guide me to my soulmate apt for riding, munching miles without crunching bones & spine, with a smile on the highway of Life!

Cheers,
Rup

Harley Street is already off your list, so how is there an American in the thread title.

Triumph is British. What exactly is the Suzuki CB 600R?

The 6N is a great bike and in black looks so tiny, that nobody would give it a second look. That is both a good thing and bad, depends on your perspective! The Street Triple is a lovely bike to ride.
The 600i is a high revving bike, and is fun only if you like riding like that, nothing much happening at the bottom.

Also if you get a chance do check out the Bonnie and Scrambler. Might be something up your street.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Dear The Monk,

Oops! My bad... Triumph is British indeed. A stupid oversight from my end!

I did check out Bonnie and Scrambler and felt if I were to choose Triumph then Triple would be it!

My riding would include lot of city commuting and I think 600i, based on your feedback, may not be it!

Apart from ABS which is essential and missing in ER-6N, are there any other concerns with the bike or should I just go in for Triple, though the latter is 3 lacs expensive than the former.

If you have the triple in your options, why not consider the Z800? It is faring really well according to our fellow xbhpians here who own it. Since you are gaining in wisdom and grey hair do take a test ride of the Benelli 600GT. Who knows you might find your soul-mate in it?
The way you ride is the way you are..

Thank you very much Deathmate.Zed! Unfortunately KTM Ahmedabad did not have Z800 and hence missed out on the same. Just read that it comes with ABS and hence would definitely like to check the same out.

Aye aye captain, will check out the Benelli too this weekend.

Will keep you all posted!

Thanks a ton for your continuing guidance and advice.

Cheers,

Dear brothers,

After considering and weighing all options available, I am kind of convinced that Japanese aka ER-6N it will be!

I really thank you all for your invaluable inputs & guidance. It meant a lot and will go down a long way...

Any words of advice before I seal the deal?

And soon am gonna ride to freedom - AMEN!

Cheers,
