  • New bike RC/Duke 200 vs Cbr 250 vs Thunderbird 350

    Hi Riders,

I am looking to upgrade from my Unicorn( 2012, 18k kms) to a bike for use in City.

Unicorn was my first bike and though I appreciate the smoothness of the engine I always thought I made a bad decision as I felt the need for more power from the bike. So 2nd time around being very patient and going to do more research.

I test rode the Thunderbird 350 and fell in love with it and went ahead booked it as usually big guys like me get the " it will suit u better". But the more I think about it I'm going to ride mostly in the city and having second thoughts as I see the Duke , RC CBR everyday. I want a bike that will be suited for mostly city and mild highway usage. I know bikes a poles apart wrt riding style but I'm very confused atm.

I am yet to test ride duke and RC 200 but seems the CBR 250 is not available anywhere?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Query Approved

The Duke would probably be the most convenient for city use. Though do test ride it to see if you find it comfortable. It does have a small hard saddle which is not to everyone's liking.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

You will surely miss the comfort of Unicorn.
Also some back-pain will be not far behind IMHO.
May be it will take some time to understand.

      O
The bikes are very smart, but it's still up to you to keep the rubber side down.

I would suggest that you test ride RC200 because for city use, you might feel that it is uncomfortable. Duke 200 would be a better option. Also, consider Pulsar RS200

Dude, get rc with caution .
I have 200ns and rc200 .and I prefer to ride 6 day ns and Sunday is for rc.
Though rc gives 5 kmpl more mileage than ns.
Rc is extreme fun to ride only for 2-3 days ,after that it hurts your body real bad ,no matter if you've 16.5 inch biceps.
So choose well ,2 friends of mine who's daily commute is 30km and more ,now regret their decision everyday And try to use metro for travelling. It is a big investment.

Thanks for the input guys. I took test rides of the Duke and Rc today. Due to my height found the duke very uncomfortable as my knees don't fit in the scoops at the side. Rc is much better fit but as mentioned above the committed riding position will not be practical for daily use.
If the cbr250 is going to fazed out I might have to revaluate the tbird. I think a longer test ride is due.
Personally I am not too keen on buying a Bajaj but I guess will have to keep some options open.

              Bajaj issues ..?
I love to ride ns more than r15v2(ex ride).
If and only if you can feed it motul then you will have smoothness miles ahead of tvs and on par with yamaha.

I will surely test ride the ns/rs200 and decide Also getting the Tbird from a friend for a whole day to make the final decision.

                  Hi guys,

                  Quick update.

I got a call from Re showroom that a new lot has arrived and I could get the bike if my made the payment immediately.

So I am now a proud owner of Tbird 350 and I love the bike very comfortable to ride around in the city.

                  Thanks
