  • TVS Wego or Jupiter?

    Hello there,

I'm confused between Wego and Jupiter. First of all, I like the design of Jupiter more than the Wego (especially because Jupiter has 3D logo ) while I like Wego because it has Digital meter which looks fabulous as well as its look but not as I like the look of Jupiter. Both of these have similar mileage and even most of specs are same or similar.

So, friends please tell me which one will be better for me?

Here a few details which may help you a little more to help me :

    1. I will usually ride in city.
    2. Approximate daily running will be 10-15 KM. (Or may be much lower than this)
    3. My height is 5.2"
    4. I'll mostly run in the good condition roads.
    5. City- Jagdalpur, CG.

    Thank you!

Both have the same engine specifications so you just need to TD both the vehicles and check which one is more comfortable. My vote goes for TVS Wego..

Thanks for your suggestion! I think I should go with Wego, as you also suggested it. I had done test drive of both and couldn't found any different (I'm too bad in such things ).

I would suggest the Jupiter . It will be more comfortable as it's having gas shock at the rear and more fuel efficiency.

The new wego has exactly the same specification(same engine)as the Jupiter. The old wego was different. Even it weights less than Jupiter by 4 kgs. Hence performance will be better. And it comes with Disc Brake (more safty) as well. For your height, I will recommend wego. Anybody above 5'6" & avg built, wego will look small.

Disc brakes are good but both the tvs scooters comes with the awful tvs tyres, I have friends who have both wego and Jupiter and my wego friend just had an accident because the tyres locked up, under soft braking on a rainy day and skided off. He was lucky to have survived but apart from that both are really nice scooters but my friend's Jupiter has these vibrations at about 45 above speeds and when I ride it to college most often I'm left with a numb hand, I rode the wego yesterday for about 60kms on mixed condition and I gotta say, it has very very less almost no vibrations and the digital console is hard to read while riding during daytime.

Okay, thanks for your advice. I'll try to get the disc brake one.

Tyre locked up, how? Also, I heard that TVS tyres are now improved a lot now, so is it not true and the tyres are still not good? Thank you for sharing the experience, by the way.

The tyres are still no where near the ceat's or the mrf's and now coming to think of it, his wego has clocked just under 4k in the odo so I guess the tyres have to wear in, to grip better, (someone with more experience regarding tyres please advice.)
And yeah sure it's my pleasure to help you.

I don't think there's any difference between the two.

Only the one which you feel more comfortable buy that.

And I would suggest go for drum brakes because TVS guys themselves say that wheels of Wego skid with Disc brakes.

Oh.. Thanks for the info... So, drum brakes are better than disc brake for Wego? The peoples at TVS were saying that Disc brakes will be better than drum brakes.. I'm little bit confused here. And is there any Wego (disc brake) user here who can tell the experience with it?

                          Re: TVS Wego or Jupiter?

I am using Jupiter since a year and now using it regularly to commute to office (60km to and fro) since more than 3 months. With odo clocking more than 7000km, I find the tyres confidently sticking to the road. There are numerous occasions which involved panic braking but the tyres never skid.

Coming to vibration, yes there is obvious vibration >45km but that doesn't disturb the rider. I am 6 ft tall and I find the riding posture better than Wego.
