er-6n is a no brainer. super solid reliability of a kwacker...
city ride and highway rides are equally amazing. gives around 27kmpl in city and 30+ on highway. sweet spot is at 125-135kmph.

Good question Monk. I rode the Bonnie, and came back smiling. It is as refined as any Japanese unit, with very good throttle response, nice slotting gear-box, brakes, tyres. Although it may not handle as well as the Kawa, but it does make for a fun ride.

Honestly speaking, I am more inclined towards the Bonnie. Heart says Bonnie but mind says Er6n.

I would like to know if Bonnie can handle city traffic, and if the heat is manageable.

The thing I liked most about Triumph folks is that they provide test ride on any bike. While at the Pro-biking showroom you can manage to get a test ride if you are on good terms with the showroom folks. Hence, when I got a test ride on the 6n, I didnt even try to ride it hard, as it was a customers vehicle. I was very easy on her.

On the service front, how is Triumph Mumbai? Showroom guys are top notch.

Go with your MIND.. that's the smartest things in the world. Er6n is a good head turner with Kawi's reliability. If you are more interested on royal ride, start checking used Harley Iron883. Like I did and owned 2 days back.

No RE and HD. I am just interested in either a Triumph or a Kawa. I believe Bonnie is better than a lot of royal rides out there. I have ridden it a lot and I can vouch by that. Anyways, I think I will most likely go with er6n, as I have been a Kawasaki owner and I love the way they treat customers. I also have a long relationship with the svc guys here, hence, everything gets done quickly and properly.

However, when it comes to earning money I use my brains (well mostly), but when it comes to spending it on my passion I mostly go with the heart. So, I think I may surprise myself when I am actually putting money on the table.

BTW, that is a absolute pickle you are in. ER6N and the bonnie, tough choice indeed.

I would say the ER6N makes more sense perhaps ? Partly because I like it more and then the rest because the ER6N will cater to more aggressive form of riding if you need it to, while the bonnie has been kinda purpose built for a limited type of riding. I hope you see where I am getting at.

I have no idea of service and spare cost comparo of the 2 so no comments on them.

But one thought, isnt the er6n rearseats much harder than the bonnie rear seats ?

Go for the Bonnie just because you love it! Else, you'd feel bad everytime you see one. And if and when you miss the ER6N, just walk down to your parking space and look at your smaller ER6N (does almost 75% of what ER6N does) and be proud of your decision to bring home the Bonnie.

Moreover, service intervals are longer in case of Triumph.

I have rode Bonnie (test bike) only for a few kms so won't comment about it but with my Ninja 650 I have done numerous trips with my wife. Mumbai - Udupi, Mumbai - Goa, Mumbai - Konkan and plan to do many more in coming years. She has no issues sitting on the bike for long hours and having scala communication while on ride helps as you can talk to your partner so that she does not get bored.

I got a gel seat for her from redlineplus.in which helps to some extent on long trips and had a Shad SH48 top box for luggage. Currently the top box mounting kit is broken but it was very convenient set up for us. We are yet to try the saddle bags set up on N650 so won't comment on the comfort with saddle bags just yet. So when it comes to pillion comfort on ER6N, I can vouch that you would not be dissappointed.

P.S. In Bonnie you do have some options to make it perfect when you ride with pillion. You can get a King and Queen seat with back rest along with accessory saddlebags & top case box for luggage duties. Picture below for your reference.

I'm not an owner nor ridden a Bonnie, I've ridden a test ride ER-6N only.

Its not about machine, as there is no affordability criteria here I would like to say listen to your heart what ever machine it is

Bonnie-
Ageless classic design
Reliable
Has lots of scope for mods. I mean the list is just endless.
Hard rear suspension, but can be fixed.
Nimble, linear power delivery, handles beautifully for a retro classic.
Brakes are adequate.
Stiff ride. Pillion comfort on stock suspension setting is a bit low. Ride can be bone jarring on broken roads. But yes, it can be rectified, not a deal breaker.
Corners well for a retro but not in the territory of d390.
Longer service interval.
Less number of service centres.
Can expect better customer support n service satisfaction compared to kawa.
No nonsense bike, will just about do anything that you require of her.
Not an attention seeker, a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Er6n
Equally reliable if not more...no, its utterly reliable.
Good mileage compared to bonnie, but not by a huge margin.
Modern design which may show it's age in a few years.
Rear brakes are quite spongy but again you can work around.
Nimble, linear power delivery, handles as expected.
Nice pillion comfort.
Suspension settings apt for Indian roads, under hard breaking there is a slight nose dive at the front but definitely not a deal breaker.
All the heft can be felt when pushing the bike from parking places.
Shorter service interval.
Service satisfaction is adequate.
Higher top end compared to stock bonnie.
Quite a head turner when compared to bonnie.


Cost of ownership of both the bikes are quite similar. Fuelling is spot on in both. Both are admired n loved world over, bonnie is quite a legend in it's own right and Er6n is a charmer.
Both are sensible choices and u can't go wrong with either of them.

Thanks a lot guys for chipping in. Surprisingly my wife has agreed to keep my Ninja 300 and get a Bonnie.
