    Re: Which bike around 2L?

I got the RC 200... I'm about 82.5.. same 6ft.. and I find it really amazing.. pillion is comfortable but again, it depends. I suggest you to try it out before picking, the reason is that I found it to be really comfortable, so did my friends AFTER they sat on it.. but by looks, it doesn't look really comfortable.. but again, it depends on what is your definition of "comfort".. I get around 30-35 in the city of Hyderabad's crazy traffic. yes I ride through the city.. for you, outer ring road, you should get a mileage of 40's.. a nice little bike.. very low maintenance if cared for well.. the chain must be oiled & lubed regularly.. but other than that, she's a smooth babe.. initially you will have body pains for your body to get adjusted to the bike's posture. but you get used to it soon.. I ride almost the same as you.. i.e. 50 kms per day, 250 per week & 1000 per month.. also sometimes weekend rides to increase the monthly quota of kms.. she's a beauty for all I can say, nimble & light.. I didn't face any issues like broken pedals etc.. yes some people do face them but that's an extreme case where it hits very hard on the pedal.. on Honda, it might be bent but on KTM it breaks, that's the difference, but nothing to worry, only if you drop it or crash it you will have a bad time.. the RC 200 costs about 1.9 lakhs, per our budget, I say it's a good one.. but I only wish they would have given ABS with it for that price, the CBR & other bikes would've taken a serious hit on their sales..

live long.. live happy.. that's the best revenge that can be served to the people who hate you..

Go for CBR. Pillion comfort is way better than rc and imo, looks better! Take a TD and decide

Ah, that's alright. Thanks for the offer though.

See, thing is, I never wanted the RC, since it was very track focused and I would barely be able to sit on it comfortably. Also, I was thinking only the Duke 390, since I didn't want to get the 200 and regret not upgrading to the 390. Also, pillion comfort is of prime importance since this will be a primary vehicle for taking my mom around town for getting work done. Hence the RC200 is a no-go at all. Thanks for the suggestion though. Since most of the bike reviewers aren't 6ft tall, it's very hard to gauge how cramped a bike will be for someone with long legs.

Looks are subjective. I don't mind the CBR's current looks, and I obviously think the new one released in Indonesia looks way better. Either way, refined engine, pillion comfort and upgradability ( a few years down the line, I'll be able to upgrade to a proper SBK, or maybe a tourer, which will be harder to justify with a Duke 390 being the flaming ball of raw power that it is ) are key for me and it looks like I'll be getting that CBR in the end.

you are right.. I did try out the duke before going in for the RC, and I felt the duke cramped and the RC more comfortable.. guess I'm alone lol.. and the RC is a strict no go for taking mom around for a ride, she won't be comfortable..

I think that CBR is something you must take a look at.. I did try it out & I actually liked it.. pillion was not an issue, not really tall like the RC also, but comfortable for a 6 footer like myself..

            Re: Which bike around 2L?

So day before yesterday I went ahead and pulled the trigger on a Tricolor ABS. Picked up the bike yesterday with my mom riding as pillion. She didn't have too much trouble getting on since we both had our backpacks ( I had headed to the showroom directly after work and she was out finishing up some work and I picked her up on the way ). It feels amazing, and there are vibes that are there owing to me sitting on the engine instead of away from it like I did on my Avenger.

Throttle response is great, and like mentioned everywhere, first gear is too short and second is too tall. Neutral is easy to hit ( was a misery on my Avenger ) and the gear shifts are extremely smooth and practically silent save for a click. Seat is harder but it's easy to adapt to. The bike is super-easy to maneuver though.

These are just small first impressions since I have plenty of work today. I might do a slightly detailed write up tonight.

For reference, I'm six feet tall, and it is extremely comfortable in terms of leg and arm position.

Anybody knows when will Hero Hx250r, Yamaha R25 arrive in India?? I'm sick & tired of waiting. [emoji25] [emoji25]
Have heard a lot about the Yamaha R25/R3's. Excellent bikes. Hx250r should be equally gud too. Initially, I was considering the RC390, but after sitting on the bike decided against it. Too cheap & uncomfortable..

Absolutely no idea. I had no option as my vehicle is going to be my work commuter. But I think the firms like Yamaha and Honda are just dilly dallying in India.

Congrats Shane! Did you get MRFs or Contis? You can try adding gel packs to the seat for softness.

And yeah, would have been good to have more competition in this range. But after waiting 1 year for new launches, I bit the bullet on a well maintained pre-worshipped baby ceeber. She handles beautifully once I changed from the awful 13k km run contis to Michelin Pilot Streets.

Thanks! Well, my dealer had a Tricolor ABS and a black ABS but neither had MRFs sadly. I asked him about it and all, and he said the usual "No saar, it comes with Continentals only" so that was the only thing I had to forsake out of my PDI checklist.

I may get flamed for this, but I think the ContiGos are way better than the tyres that were on my Avenger ( which lost grip with even a little bit of sand, weren't sticky at all, even if I slowly braked with the front brakes ).

I've run over a 100km already on this bike, but I feel none of the wrist/back/leg pain that I should feel. Which is odd, but then again, my household goods just came from Gurgaon to here, so we've been unpacking a lot of stuff at home.

I noticed quite a few vibes in and around the bike, mostly at lower RPM, considering I haven't hit the redline as yet. My best guess is that it's because this is a relatively higher compression bike when compared to my previous one, so it doesn't bother me for now. I'm just hoping it doesn't carry over to when I'm touring. Done the occasional 8.5k to 9k RPM run ( gradually of course ) and I'm loving it so far.

PS. I'm a little happy I didn't get the Duke. I've seen so many of them on my way to/from work and I'm beginning to feel that they're selling like Pulsars. On the other hand, I've seen one CBR150R and no 250s yet. This is really nice for that exclusivity ( especially now that Honda's CBR sales have dropped massively )

This is probably my second or third post here but I'm having a confusing time deciding which bike I want to get in a 2L range. Let me just pen down certain things first.

                        Height - 6ft
                        Weight - 75kg +/- 2kgs
                        City - Bangalore
Usage - Mostly city riding to and from work (around 20km one way on the ORR). Weekend touring.
Pillion comfort is required to an extent.
Since I'm going to travel around 800-1000 kilometers a month for work, I'll be taking a slight look at FE. Doesn't matter too much. I'm looking at getting a no nonsense bike that can take the various weather conditions. I've ridden a Pulsar 150 and Avenger 220 previously. I am mostly a sedate rider but I'd like a machine that I can push if I feel like it. Like say if I want to zip around the city faster than my normal riding. I'd also want the machine to be able to do 100-120 without stressing the engine at all while touring. Could not do this on my avenger.

My current options are the CBR 250R (with ABS) and the Duke 390. From what I know, maintenance is equally cheap on both vehicles but I've been reading the D390 ownership thread on team-bhp and there seem to be a lot of foot pegs just breaking off after a fall. I can't seem to find such info on the CBR.

I'll be getting the vehicle some time this week.

PS I don't like bullets or thunderbirds much. They're not that pleasant on the ears.
You can add RE CGT to your list.. Considering your requirement. It will suit you well.

                          Greetings everyone
I'm in the same situation of choosing a new bike.Currently I ride a Pulsar 220,Would a cbr 250r be a wise upgrade? Or I should go for Duke 390? But I'm concerned regarding it's quality. Also I was considering TB500,took a test ride of it, it sometimes hit neutral gear in the city and it's really difficult to manage it and taking turns in the city is pain.
I'll be picking one in the next 3-4 months so trying to get as much information as possible.
