Re: Honda CBR250R or KTM RC200 or Pulsar RS200
I know what you mean. Crawling into gaps in traffic and taking sharp turns isn't something I'd like to do either. How about the suspensions? Is the RC ok on the potholes which are in millions on bangalore roads? and lastly do the pillion riders complain of the seating? KTM has made the rear seat look so much like a cowl. But it indeed is a really good cushioned seat. But kinda high and small.Originally posted by joe_marvy View Post

Re: Honda CBR250R or KTM RC200 or Pulsar RS200
Sorry, I forgot about the suspension setup. You will feel each and every thing on the road. This bike has got some serious stiff suspension which is best for track. But our roads with half feet patch works, surprising pot holes, God it will hit you hard, really hard. Lane markings, road patches, potholes et al will be felt. If any of the road obstacles comes as a surprise I just stomp on the brakes or swerve if no surrounding vehicles or stand on the pegs. Rider seat is hard accompanied by the suspension and the ultra low profile tyres, you will have to take the hard beatings (don't ask me where). Pillion seat in so comfy when you sit on it, but people dare to sit on it while riding. It's like you are sitting on rider's shoulders, you will not have any confidence. But my wife always tells me she's fine with the pillion seat, but she's short. Having a pillion will make your riding really painful or you will not feel confident compared to riding alone. I don't entertain anyone pillion, I prefer my car for them.Originally posted by manas.neo View PostI know what you mean. If you are going for KTM RC, keep wide open eyes and be over cautious on road undulations/potholes. You can still adjust the mono shocks settings to make it bit soft, but it would affect the fun this thing is made for!Last edited by joe_marvy; 07-31-2015, 05:21 PM.

My choice will be new RS200.Its a good bike.really good one.and love the headlights.but ya if you happen to test ride a AS200 then you might like it.it's a good bike and a very comfortable one.try it once.you might end up buying it.and you won't be missing the Pulsar 200 lights either [emoji6]Originally posted by manas.neo View PostHi Guys,
The bangalore traffic has now made me sick of driving my Rapid TDi everyday to work. At this point I regret selling off my trusty Pulsar 220. And have decided to get back on two wheels. I need your help in deciding for what to buy. Before you suggest I'd jot down my requirements.
Budget : 1 - 1.5 Lakhs
Height : 6 feet 2 inches
Weight : 88 kgs
Usage : Mostly driving to work that is 8 kms from hy home. And occasional highway tours (will be very rare though)
I have now shortlisted the below options
- A used Honda CBR250R : Which model should I look for. And what price bracket should I find this for?
- A used KTM RC 200 : I find this bike the best looking of the lot. Is a much more aggresive stance. Would you recommend this for my height and build? And again what price bracket should I set for this?
- A new Bajaj Pulsar RS200 : This fits my requirements perfectly. It's a more relaxed seated bike and stands somewhere between a tourer and a sporty bike (definitely not a Race Sport bike as bajaj calls it). I do not like the red and yellow colors which are being sold right now but can wait till the all black version comes out. I know the design is a bit over done and there are some reports about broken alloys and handlebars are around, but I can wait till a revision happens (if it happens soon).
- And lastly, will it make sense to get a Pulsar 220 again?
I'd really appreciate your comments and suggestions which can help me decide on what to buy.
Thanks!

Re: Honda CBR250R or KTM RC200 or Pulsar RS200
I would like to make a case for the rs200 as most people here are for Honda.
Pros:
Power
Mileage
FI
Looks good in real life
Costs less
Comfortable riding position
Cheaper spares
High quality switch gear
Stable as a rock in heavy wind blast
Cons
Vibes it's got some but not annoying
Service can be a pain, you need to find someone good and stick to him

Pros:
Power lowest of all three
Mileage okay meme
FI all three are FI
Looks good in real life With a tail light like that? Disagree. The other 2 look much better
Costs less ok
Comfortable riding position CBR is more comfy
Cheaper spares because you need them so frequently
High quality switch gear RC gets the same. The CBR isn't bad at all either.
Stable as a rock in heavy wind blast Try in crosswinds
Cons
Vibes it's got some but not annoying

Honda CBR250R or KTM RC200 or Pulsar RS200
I never said that the pulsar has the highest power over here, nor did I try to make a comparison of sorts. I just listed out why one must choose a pulsar. And the vehicle is stable on cross winds.Originally posted by HyperRetard View PostReplies in bold

I stopped by the bajaj showroom on my way back from the gym over the weekend. I found that the RS200 has the handlebars too high to be called a "Race Sport" bike. A sportier stance would have made it more appealing. The plastics felt quite cheap. But that seems to be a measure for cutting the cost. The sales guy was super confident in being all ignorant and telling me that the RS200 has dual-channel ABS while pointing at the brake calipers on front and rear. I tried to tell him he is wrong but he seemed too delusional to be convinced. I didn't take a test ride but the sub-par quality, the limited yellow and red color options have put me off. The showroom folks also refused to acknowledge any reports of alloy and handlebar breakage reports. I'll wait for the new batch to roll out or the all-black version to come out. Until then I'd keep the ceeber in mind. Also Honda is launching the new color schemes of CBR at the revfest today. Which is a disappointment as I expected some revision in the tech specs of 250.

I haven't bought anything yet. I was eagerly waiting for a Honda CBR250R refresh. But honda surprised us all with the lame stickerjob and paint schemes. So as of now I have zeroed on a black cbr250r. Will be going ahead anytime in august to make the booking.

Re: Honda CBR250R or KTM RC200 or Pulsar RS200
There's no issue with my car. I just want to get back on 2 wheels. Like I mentioned in one of the earlier posts, I had given up on biking since I had an accident when a car oversped out of a turn in the wrong direction of a one-way road. It was just near my home and I didn't have my gear on, few broken ribs, a fracture in arm and my pulsar 220 totaled. It took a while to recover and in the mean time I gave up my trusty old friend. And now I am switching jobs and the new office would be much closer from home. So I'm planning to ride the 10-15 kms daily on a bike.Originally posted by Rahul Pednekar View PostBy the way Buddy what's the issue with your rapid tdi

Duke 200/390. CBR is really a good VFM bike and overall justifies all your needs at par. But why dont you take a look at Duke. I think you will be again cheerful and gain your trust with the duke. 200 or 390 will make your daily routine a fun ride everyday. Duke 200 must be a stable choice for your needs .Its not the Bike that makes a Biker perfect, its a Biker who makes his Bike perfect :)

Hi, Thanks for the suggestion. I know duke is an amazing bike. But I just never liked it.
I took another test ride of RC200 and a CBR250R back to back. And I know few of you might find this strange but this is what I felt
- RC was so much better to sit on. The so very sporty stance just involves you so much more. CBR has a more relaxed seating position but I'd prefer a sporty stance over a semi-sporty stance where you don't know if you are relaxed or crouching. The RC just makes you so much more committed to the vehicle. I had much more fun riding the RC.
- CBR felt smoother than the RC, just as any honda automobile is. But the RC (200) even though felt a little underpowered in comparison, had better feedback whenever you open the throttle.
- And heres the observation I never thought would come up. The RC was much more flickable than the CBR! Yes, I found the RC much more flickable in traffic than the CBR. And for an instance, at a U turn I kept hitting the tank with the handle bar on the CBR. But RC turned with ease and I do not recall the handlebar touching the tank.
- I felt the RC deserved more power and would go for the 390 when I go the KTM way. Though I am hoping KTM gives the slipper clutch on the RC390 as they did for the D390
