  • Duke 200 or wait for a few more months?

    Budget- Around 1.5L
    Age - 21
Purpose - Daily commute of about 30km inside city. Frequent trips on the highway.

I was considering the D200 and the NS200,but since they stopped the production of the latter, I thought about the AS200, but I throughly disliked it. The RS200 felt too bulky. So the D200 is only thing that fits my needs and greeds. I heard that the new apache is about launch by the year end and a few other new ones are releasing. So should I wait for the new releases or go along with Duke?
4 months is a lot of waiting time. :/ Itching for an upgrade from dad's old TVS victor

There will always be a bike that is tempting and is due-to-be-launched-very-soon!

    What bike query approved.

Have you test rode RS200? For your budget RS200 offers better machine with ABS. You will get used to the size.

I agree with Nikhil . RS200 feels bulgy and weights whopping 170kg. D200 will serve your purpose very well.

D200 will keep you happy for a few years, will serve your needs n greeds better than any pulsar currently available. If you can stretch a bit then cbr 250r is also a good choice.

Typical old racer - you wobble when you walk, not when you ride

Go for Duke 200. As you would be using it mostly for city commute duke will be your perfect partner. Its nimble, linear, smart, perfectly mastered engine which will no day day let your hopes go down.

For your highway commute needs it will out perform very well. If your budget is good go for D200 as it gets FI .

for RS200 its heavy hard to maneuver in city traffic. quality may make you disappointed as its not so top notch.

Best of Luck for your new Ride!

If your priority I city riding, go for duke 200 or wait for mojo 😆.
However, naked bikes can be a bit difficult at highways.
I would ask you to consider kawa z250sl, but it might be out of your budget.

For highway get ready to face some wind blast.
                Missing projector headlamps.
                No ABS.
                Extremely Poor Pillion comfort(if any)
                Why not AS200?

200 has a very short garage life(dont mistake it with reliability, just that the bike is so sorted, and the chassis so capable, you will yearn for a faster bike pretty soon, but this will be the most fun bike out of all options). Check cbr250 or lookout for the upcoming mojo which is about to be launched(bookings started).

I have taken the duke 200 for city commutes, saddlesore 1600, the Himalayas all the time and trust me I call that machine the best thing that happened to the Indian community for a long long time.
Take this for reliability- in the saddlesore it kept up with all the big bikes-read I did top speeds of the duke like all day long. But there was no drama, no hiccups nothing.
Himalayas? Brilliant in cornering, brilliant corner exits, and trust me its more comfy than many other bikes available..
So my two cents- close your eyes and get a Duke 200.

PS- the duke shares it garage with the Rc390.
