    Suggest me a bike that shoud be a good tourer as well as a good commuter.

    I am planning to buy a motorcycle that would act as a good tourer. It should be powerful, have a good accelerator response and should be comfortable for long drives. But it should also be not bad for commuting across the city.

    I am looking in 200-300cc segment and budget is ~1.8Lakhs in Bangalore.

    I will be doing a ~4kms daily commute. ~40kms long rides on weekends and once in two month inter-city ride ~400-600kms.

    As of now, I have selected only CBR250R as the bike that fits me the most. But I am not sure considering the fact that it is being discontinued to make way for CBR300R.

    I discarded REs due to their frequent maintenance. Also, once I started researching about the CBR, I almost neglected REs (No offence intended)

    Questions:
    1. Suggest good motorcycles fitting to the above criteria.
    2. Is CBR250R really being discontinued? It it is so, why are they launching its new model (as seen in revfest)?
    3. When will the new CBR250R come to showrooms? Would it be available in the same price or would the price be changed?
    4. Is it still worth to buy CBR250R? Should I go with the current model or wait for the new one or go with some other bike instead?

    I'll be booking the bike within next two months.

    Currently the CBR 250 is the only bike that fits the bill. Though if you are interested in the Mojo, then you might find something there!

      All-Black paint is not shown on honda's website. Is it available in the 2014 model?

        Wow dude. 40 km long rides!!! How do you even manage to ride such long distances on motorcycles. I'm amazed to know that people have such stamina.

            Dont wait for 300R, it will cost more than your budget thanks to its "premiumness"

            Not sure about the discontinuation of the 250R but even then if you chose the 250R, you will get continued support for the bike specially with the Extended Warranty from Honda

            Other bikes to consider are the AS200, Duke200

              If u ride single then duke 200

              If you ride doubles then cbr 250r


              I have went for a 260kms ride on ma duke 200 ... i not even felt a pain in my body ... i felt like i was sitting on achair in my house ... bike was very comfortable ...

                CBR250 /RC 200/ RC 390/ Duke 200 anything will fit for 4km commuting and 40km weekend ride

                cbr250r is not discontinued and neither will be anytime soon. the new ones are just with sticker change

                unsure when will it come but should not be long enough maybe a cpl of week. unsure of the price however should be on similar lines with the old ones.

                cbr250r was worth and is worth the money anyday for the practicality and reliability.

                I'll be booking the bike within next two months.
                2 months is a long time. however duke is not a bad alternative. people have done ladakh from bangalore even on rc390. its only how much you want that particular machine.

                  CBR 250 or AS200.

                  Both should fit your requirement easily. Even if CBR 250 is discontinued, still spares and support will be given. If the support is not given, then no vehicle will be driven since one day or another it has to come to a stop.

                  So, dont worry much about the service and spares availability. If you are in Tier-1 city, you dont have to worry much.

                          Why not a Thunderbird 500 , RE has come a long way in terms of reliability. Go and take a test ride on both cbr250 and tb500 and then decide.
