I would say a new bike is always better than a 2nd hand one! The feeling of a brand new bike, the pleasure while taking it out of the showroom seeing 0 on the odo is something incomparable!
Also since you will mostly be riding in the city, I would say FZ is a very good bike.

i would never ever go for a second hand

have a TD of the FZ,P 200 and Apache rtr Fi and decide..

FZ has very good initial, superb handling and looks.. Downside is mileage and the hefty price tag for a 150 with 14 ps..

P200/RTR Fi make most sense for ur budget... like i said, have a TD and decide..
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

Second hand bikes, if used nicely, can be worth the money. Try to hit a good bargain, because the main reason you are buying a second hand bike is for saving money, so be stingy about your budget.

Rest, don't worry, if the warranty is in place, then you'll be anyhow covered. Make sure you inspect the second hand bike in day light. There are many guides on net to tell you what to see in a secondhand bike.

+1 for that... i agree with him surely... before last month i had owned a second hand '88 model RX100 for 3 years... when i bought it the only good thing in it was the perfect stock engine... after a month or two i had to spend some money on its maintanence such as shocks, electricals etc... which costs some money... I my opinion a second hand 2 strokes will be not that much probs... but a second hand 4 stroke, i will suggest u to buy a new one...

Last month (exactly on 16th Feb 2009) i bought my FZ16... and till date it has covered 1800+kms(ha ha two long tours )... its really awesome... the one main thing which u find in FZ16 if u were a 2-stroker is its "SHORT GEARING"... really awesome maaaaaaan....... I love her very much...

The camparo for FZ is R15... and only covered 6000k for 78000rs... thinks really cool... also take a TD and look howz it feels... if there's no probs then i will suggest u an R15... REMEMBER an FZ never ever have the WEEEE as that of an R15...

Check the books and papers are clear for R15 and also check y he is selling at that much rate and know guy is not cheating u in any form...

Hope this suggestion will help u...

                    #first mail!!
                    Hi dude,
m.y office is in gurgaon but on weekend in go to delhi to meet friends...
so location is gurgaon and Delhi...
if u wanna look lemme know we can meet for some time..
condition is very good, i love taking care of machine... timely service and everything... if u want u can speek to service center personal for feedback .... so u can have confidence while buying... i can undestand your situation...since you are puttin in so much u should be sure you are gettin best deal...
No modification ( only head light bulbs changed from normal to blue light)...
And the price dude... am throwing in 2 helmets(cross=3500/-, Stud 900/- and saddle bag worth 2100/-)...
well if i take them out then it will be 75K.....
but i think its a good deal....max i come down to 78K.... think about it...
if you are serious @78K(with freebees) you can take a test ride...no issues....

                    lemme know dude..
                    Cheers..

                    #2nd mail!
                    hey dude,
Hmm, ok.. u must be having helmet of your own...
even i had bought studd when i bought the bike, but, i had to buy a better one, because @speed 100+ in studd helmet lot of air from front enter inside and makes lot of noise, but when u try cross helmet on, you cannot feel any air hitting you and it is well insulated from air, but has breathing holes so your head can breath....
am not forcing you to buy but.. just try it on when u see the bike then you can decide... about the helmet i m giving you advice as a rider...rest you can decide...
and i can wait till 1st week of april.. so chill out, do well in your exams.. actually i will be leaving country by 20th april.. so, for me i wud love it, if can give bike by 2nd week of april... but if some buyer are intersted, i will ride some old bike after my baby is gone...
And i would suggest go with deal, cuz it will save me time to look around for customer for helmet and saddle bag.
and where do u live.,? delhi.,?
anyways, concentrate on your exams, and lemme know when it finishes and do confirm your last price ....and then we can meet up after your exams....
                    cheers..
                    ride safe.

                    # 3rd mail
                    hi dude,
                    Its your call dude....
but u know by figure r-15 is better performing on road than fz16, but both are in diff segment...
fz is more on city riders bike , upright seating and yzf more towards sports biking... but i love the way yzf moves in city. both are amazingly styled, so you better make up your mind and then buy....
Cuz personally once i am back in india, if there are no other better bikes than r-15, i would buy r-15 again wihtout a second thought... but i am not you and your are not me... u take your decision which bike love n suits you n your riding style....
And about second hand bike.. i would say my bike is well maintained you will find out after u take a ride.,.,
Even if i were you, i would worry about the condition of 2nd hand bike and all, but i can promise you that the machine is in mint condition, rest you can get your own mechanic or whatever.....
but dude again its your call... and i will think bout 75k offer... and if iget some buyers for my helmet n sadle bag seperately, then ur deal is on with 75k.
since you are genuine buyer... wouldn,t mind going out for short spin when ur exams are done...
chao take care.... will catch ya online sometime...

do u think know i should go ??????

If the bike is good - no crashes, no engine complaints, papers all clear (no bank hypothecation) - then i suggest you go for it. You can check up the service history of the bike with the showroom. I say it's a very good deal! You're getting almost 30,000 off from the street price of a brand new machine. Even if it's a second hand bike it's almost new, most probably eventhough you're a second owner you might still be covered under warranty.

I guess the chap wants to leave the country that's why he's selling it off. This is a good deal. Go for it. You can buy a brand new FZ et al, but one month after you'll lose that charm of showroom freshness. The brand new FZ and this slightly used R15 would feel the same to you 2 months from now. R15 would keep you more entertained than the FZ, and it can match bigger cap bikes in performance.

If you aint buying publish the contact details of the guy here... the R15 would be gone within days/hours!

From the mail i see that guy is going out of india and he needs some money... for that he is selling the bike... so if that is the reason he is selling the bike there would be no probs(i think)...

As i told R15 cannot be compared to FZ(any other bike in india)... so my opinion is to go for an R15... even though i am using an FZ and FZ also will not be a bad choice though... also check there is no hypothetication for loan and do confirm it's well maintained... ha ha ha me confusing you that much???

                        GO FOR THE R15...
