  • Is buying a used Hyosung advisable?

I've been considering buying a bigger bike since a while now. Something in the 600cc class.
The Ninja and the Hyosung have caught my attention but honestly, I'm not that loaded. Hence, I've been dabbling with the thought of buying a used one.
I've always been skeptical when it came to buying anything second hand.
What are the risks of buying a used Hyosung? I've read that they aren't known for their solid build quality.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

The Hyosung is a good bike, atleast in terms of a V twin heart, produces comparatively lesser vibes and faster power delivery. But what messed up a brilliant product is the after sales service and availability of spares. If you're sure you can live with incompetent service and forever wait for spares, go for it.

The Ninja on the other hand, which is the only competitor for the GT in that price range, is as reliable as a tank, easily available spares and a hassle free ownership. However, initial accelration will be mad on the GT, but the ninja has more top end grunt thanks to the parallel twin construction.

Do check the er6n before the faired bikes, i rode it and loved it to the core!

Only go for a second hand bike if you're familiar with the previous owner or know of the bike's detailed service history. Even if you get a small gut instinct sayin, there's something funny with this bike, stay away for your own good!

There are a lot of Ninja 650's in the used market as well.

I wouldn't recommend buying a used hyosung dude.My friends owns a GT650R and he has lot's of trouble with it.Service and spare parts are a major problem. The build quality is average. On the Other hand if you are looking for a sports tourer then the Ninja 650 would be a great bike.Like jon said do check the Er6n if you are into naked bikes.

Why dont you look at the newly launched R3 from Yammy? Reading a lot of nice reviews, and a friend from bangalore owns it, and i havent stopped hearing anything but great touring capabilities. Now i understand that you want a middle weight sports, but coming from the fact that we are indians, and fuel isnt exactly cheap here, why not go for a smaller capacity that would be lighter on the pocket to maintain, and also pack the same fun in it?

Just my two cents. Bigger isnt always better
