The CBR - It is one of the best tourers, if not number 1 in it's category. I have taken it to all the states in South India, and am vying to explore the north. Bulletproof engine, decent mileage on the highways (Returns 38+ on highways with a sane right hand) It does not give you a kick in the crotch acceleration or mad handling. But the bike does have serious power after 6K RPM, enough to smoke out most indicas or taxis on the highway. However, the maintenance is expensive because the spares are not cheap.

I would stay away from the Mojo as of now, because of it's history. I mean, 5 years to launch a bike? Come on! Honda launched their 650 after 5 years of launching the 250, and they are the slowest to move up segments! This is just my opinion though..
Agreed, to some. Duke390 is for crunchy acceleration, abs, top speed. So giving the name Relexed machine is ok to d390, because it can cruise at 5500rpm to hit 100. But what is not good is that ride quality, seats, suspension, engine heat, poor mileage, puny fuel tank, etc. Many may not buy a duke390 for touring, but for a poser as it is good as it can easily smoke a 40 lac worth of car in 0-100 very easily. Because of buying that, people used to tour. But consider mojo here, the touring will be simplified. No more saddle sore, fatigues, tail bone issues, hot air massage, etc

Also duke390 extracts so much of power from that single cyclinder which is the main cause for many problems.

Cbr250 is already a perfect riding and touring machine except for its cost and sporty riding positions.

Delayed launch is still ok that now u have a good cruiser bike which is all the way better than an RE 350 bikes

We are planning to buy a new bike next month .Have already test ridden the Mojo for about 10+kms and found it to be very comfortable and punchy in the low end.The stance was a bit commuterish with front set foot pegs and raised handle bars.Nevertheless have booked a MOJO and now are confused since now the looks don't appeal to us anymore and moreover the doubt on the brand Mahindra two wheelers ,since this is a first premium motorcycle from their stable.
Right now the three bikes under consideration are CBR250R,RC200 and MOJO. Looking for suggestions on the same. Our requirements will be
1:Majorly for tours(short and long both)
2:City riding will be moderate since office is at a distance of only 4 kms(City being bangalore)
      3:Fun to ride
      4:hassle free ownership experience

CBR250 is a proven tourer but needed to know about the capabilities of the RC,the CBR being an old model is it worth to go for it.
Looking for inputs from RC200 owners who have toured on their RC's.
Or should we consider the MOJO and stay assured about Mahindra's quality and continue with our booking(Have to confirm the booking within this week i.e: before 4th Oct hence desperately looking for suggestions)
(NB : Thanks to all the forum members as I received a lot of help on my last post and now am a proud and happy owner of a R15,this bike will be for my elder brother)
You can go for yamaha r15 the new or I should say there old model with one seat which they have bought it back in there market again. That's a good buy over all this I guess

Touring on the RC is tough.. But its fun.. Your body needs to get adjusted to its aggressive stance.. Once you are set (will take many months) you will have a LOT of fun on the RC..

live long.. live happy.. that's the best revenge that can be served to the people who hate you..

Re: Cbr250R or RC200 or Mahindra Mojo !!!!! Suggesions required !!!

Thanks a bunch guys for ur suggestions. I actually rode the mojo this weekend on the bangalore hyderabad highway for a good 50 kms. Comfort and torque were spot on...pretty impressive. Bumpy uneven roads were absorbed by the mojo...did a top whack of 155( the mojo was quite stable in even that speed). The only let down was its brakes. I tried shredding speed in haste from about 70 kmph to slow down before a series of speed breakers, and the mojo seemed confused resulting in serious fishtailing.I do the same with my R15 and it never locked my rear wheel.
Mojo boasts of 320 mm front disc, but is it anything better than CBR 250 non abs bybre unit? Everything else pushes me to buy the mojo, but my only apprehension is its brakes. As I tend to do a lot of touring, and I believe on Indian highways we play safe with brakes that put confidence in us. After this personal experience of mine, I am now inclined towards cbr250 non abs version.
Cbr250 users...if you could please throw some light with your experiences with the bybre non abs brakes? Is the braking comparable to R15's?( p.s. I am not considering the CBR250 ABS ver. as I know that's the aplha among 250 cc's with the best brakes one could wish for, just that it's out of my budget).

            Bro,

I understand that the Brakes plays a vital role. Even I did the test ride of Mojo in heavy rain for a good 10 Km's. The brakes and Tyres gave me high confident to ride in high speed even in wet roads. And Finally I BOOKED MY MOJO. However in your case it could be a one odd case. Either that particular bike might have run for a long and the break pads might be worn out. Also there is a article in overdrive released today morning after a short test ride then mentioned that "Mojo Stops Confidently but you do sense that relatively lazy rake when you stop" Also Today The Media Review is going on all the famous magazine is going on for a ride from bangalore to Coorg. So I personally suggest you to wait for a day or two once their review is out you can take a call. If you changed your Mind and going to Purchase the MOJO. Then will see you at the delivery day.

PS : I have booked mine from Alfa Motors, Bangalore How about you ?

Maybe you are correct on the part regarding the brakes being worn out,but after reading the review posed on Overdrive today morning ,we are pretty confident about mojo
and are considering to go ahead with it.
We have our booking in the showroom near Domlur ,dont remember the name though.

I personally went today and saw the white and the red white one in flesh. And those 2 machines had the after market db killer installed in it. What a music the machine produced..was bowled over instantly and confirmed on the red white model. Regarding the braking even I second you on your opinion. And as told by Farhan, once the abs version comes in, we can get the abs kit installed on our bikes.
Rest assured, I have decided to go with what I had decided in the very first place and am bringing the red-white machine home on Oct 18.
BTW which color did u book? And yes definitely see you on the mid Oct weekend ride by Mahindra

                      Great Satyajit,

I have booked the White color one. I wanted the Black Frame. However I'm afraid that the Red color might get faded in years. So that made me to choose the white Color. White is Classic and the Red with White is Sporty. You got a chance to look at the white color in flesh? how was it ?
