  • Planning to buy a Honda 650 F need Help.

    Hi,
    This is my 1st post

Currently I own a CBR 250r and i use it almost 3 to 4 days a week to commute from home to office which is Sion to Goregaon (20kms one way) early morning 8 am and its 80% highway ride so i don't get the traffic . I also do long touring on my bike . i want to upgrade to a inline 4 though i had a CBR600 f4i some 5years back it was a second hand but after 6 months i sold it because of some part malfunction and at that time it was difficult and time consuming to get the right part. so i know what a inline 4, 600cc feels like and have a good experience on it.

My only concern if i buy the new Honda 650f and as per my knowledge it doesn't have a temperature indicator and can i use it daily to commute from my house to office considering it is a highway ride and does it really get hot like other inline 4 in stop n go traffic ?

i know the price is little on the higher side but i am ok with it.

    Please suggest .

    Thanks

    jahangir.

In my opinion, if you are looking for the 650 as a commuter bike, you better be very sure you will have a safe and secure parking in your office.

Secondly, its got nothing to do with it being an inline 4, all large capacity bikes (and some smaller capacity ones too) will tend to overheat in stop and go traffic.
but if you are okay with the constant cutting in and out of the radiator fan and the hot blast of air it would invariably send out, you shouldn't have much of a problem.

These bikes when brought into a specific country, in this case, ours, they are homologated somewhat, such as de-rating the engine to match the fuel quality, and adjusting temperature settings taking into account general climate conditions.

I would recommend keeping the 250 for your regular office commute and buying the 650 for the long rides.

disclaimer: i have not personally ridden the 650, my opinions are based on experience in general, an engineering background, and a sprinkling of common sense

Hi Jahangir. have you made up your mind? Saying this because there are no other updates from your side after only one post.
