  • Help in Buying Bike for Daily Commuter n Long Trips

    Hi,

I have been reading all Forum activity but never replied. I would find my answer by searching. Here is my first Query regarding bike. Here are my consideration
    Budget-1.5 lakh max
    Fuel Efficiency-min 45Kmpl
Height-6.1" (Legs are bit Length than Upper Body) Need Length bike like Unicorn 150
Power- Currently riding Cd Deluxe from 6 year for daily commute, Long drive have rode on TVS 180, KTM Duke 200 , CBR 150 and Pulsar220. Power must be good both on
Highways and City. Long trip will be doing around 300 -500km.
Reliability and Low maintenance, Good service across city.

My consideration Hornet 160 or Wait for Apache 200.
I dont like Pulsar after I met with Accident when it failed to engage in gear, I'm scared of that bike. AS200 is good bike though.
Gixxer felt too small for my leg length.

    Help me Biker.

Approved & moved to the right section.

You may encounter false neutrals on other bikes too. And it may be possible that a Pulsar won't give you false neutrals again. I myself own a Duke 390 which shifts well enough. Still...

Hornet 160 improves on a lot of matters that any Honda bike lacked in, like appearance, gadgetry, etc. Its a good bike. Test it and go for it if you think its good. Honda usually are not too good at stocking spare parts. Confirm this before you go for it.

You may also consider Suzuki Gixxer which looks great for its segment.
Another good choice is Yamaha FAZER version 2.

      Thanks for Approving.

Suzuki gixxer is bit Smaller to me. I will feel compact myself. As I said I have Long legs. My legs come above Gixxer Tank side projections.
Yes, Honda Spare and Service are not satisfactory.

Yamaha Fazer V.2. Yes i will consider.

      Any idea of Apache 200
      Thanks,

Yes, it exists, from what I was informed.
No idea when it will come. No idea about specs either.

Honda Hornet seems to be Big. Never saw but Spec reveals it is wider than Pulsar.

Fazer V2.0 or AS200 both should suite you well. The AS is more powerful and bang for the buck. The Fazer V2.0 on the other hand scores in the refinement and build quality department.
Apart from that, we could very well witness the arrival of HX250 and Apache 200 in the next few months.

                        P.S. - As a second thought, consider the R15S.

Why not consider the Hero Glamour, the name is shitty and so is their advertising, but the bike is awesome, makes peak torque at a very low 4.5k RPM, as Sibun said to be on PM its a locomotive. Would serve both your needs as it has enough oomph to chug around while commuting and is a relaxed motor for touring.
