Before you take the plunge, have you tried adjusting the monoshock at the rear to your comfort?

Yes. Tried 3 settings (soft, medium and hard) also replaced it once. (Costly around 2800/-). Any suggestions about reconditioning ?

Since you have replaced it already in the past, reconditioning wouldn't be needed. Do you sit on the bike with a hunched back?

No, always in upright position, what about slightly lean forward posture like apache or hunk , if it help I need to replace my handlebar with a shorter one.

Sitting straight up is the best position.

About reconditioning I mean any alterations like thinner oil or modification of damping piston.

Go with a 125cc. Check out Yamaha Saluto or the Honda Shine. Both are designed to be as good commuters with no fancy things. Comfort level is also high.

Why not go for Avenger 150, it has a lower set seat.
Take a TD, see if it suits you.
