  • Need to upgrade from Bullet to some other good performance bike .

    Hello Friends ,

Please suggest me which bike is better after having bullet Electra 350 2012 model. I looking for a complete package in my future machine. My budget is around 2-3 lacs. It comes with good speed , maintenance cost should not be high as i used for day to day use and for my trips also .

    please please suggest

    Thanks
    Puneet

    Approved!

Is the budget capped at 2L or 3L? Do you like RE sitting stance or a little front biased would do? Kindly provide more details. As of now your query is vague.

TNT 300 - If money not matters, awesome exhaust sound
Honda CBR 250R - very comfortable, sports bike (mostly no issues)
Duke 390 - blazing fast (value for money 1L lesser than TNT 300)

TNT 300 More than just the exhaust note.

          Extremely well refined engine.
          Amazing comfort.
Mile muncher. Can cruise on 120 all day.
          Upright position.
          16 lt fuel tank.
          Widest wheelbase in its segment.
          Italian DNA.
          Exhaust note - pure eargasm.
Its better to sweat than to bleed...

Since you are coming from a bullet, and I'm totally judgin, but you must like riding relaxed.

For something in 2-3 Lakhs range we can exclude the twins unless you are willing to consider second hand bikes.

New bikes: I would suggest go for the Mahindra Mojo or the TNT25. They both are quality products, though the front brake on the TNT25 is scarily ABSENT (TD Bike) and it is not that smooth. Both seem to be reliable and have excellent tank range and are comfortable.

CBR 250R is also a good choice in faired segment. Though it is old it is very refined and seems to be low on regular maintenance.

Pre-loved Bikes: You can get a TNT300 or a Ninja 300 for your budget. There is no beating the twins in refinement though the maintenance might be a tad bit higher. But you need to be very careful in choosing the bike.

End of the day ... only buy a bike that sings to your heart. Each person responds differently while advice is universal.

But again wait until the AutoExpo is done with ... maybe something fancy might show up ;-)

              Thanks Buddy

i checked some of them like Mojo not a good performer bulky as per thier segment and some issue with its rear brakes not so affective . As i am riding 350 I am looking someone equal to that range in CC.

              Hello

RE stance is good ,previously i ride Pulsar 150 and i did not face any issue with that stance too. Also currently my father and bro has Yamaha SZf and R15s i feel both comfortable .

AT first i really like KTM Duke but the the heating prob and very short rear seat withdrwa my attention from that . Then i thought of Mojo but that too have some rear brake prob- not so effective . benelli tnt 300 is good option but sure about about engine and spare parts so afraid of bying that .

Then check the Z250, it is a decent upgrade from your current steed, though it doesnt match the engine capacity numbers (dont just go by numbers). It performs well on city roads and maintenance cycle is ok when compared to others and you get a reliable kawasaki branded bike.

Not sure if the Z250SL is also launched (a single cylinder version of the Z250).

D390 is an absolute all-rounder, yes pillion comfort is compromised a bit in that, but if you travel very less with pillion, you can get this package , with the 2016 edition out. its an absolute steal.
                R15S - Current
                Honda Dio - Current
                TNT 600i - Sold
                Classic 500 - Sold
                Pulsar 220 dtsi - Sold
                Yamaha YBX125 - Sold

Re: Need to upgrade from Bullet to some other good performance bike .

You never know what you may stumble upon! Having said that, do chart out your primary requirements as everyone has aptly pointed out, such as riding stance, comfort considering your physical stature, nature of use, pillion comfort.

Then just go free and take good test rides of whichever vehicle comes to your mind. Don't go just by Public opinion about any brand like engine heating problem or braking issue (unless you hear it first hand from the owner himself). Most new bikes are very fine tuned machines and with proper usage will give you miles and miles of thrilling ownership. See which bikes you like and/or which bikes suits you the best.

Coming from a Royal Enfield you should be even more disregarding of public opinion about a bike and willing to venture into newer avenues.

There are many new bikes about to hit the markets. Don't just go by the engine volume as a decisive factor, do compare torque/bhp/torque to weight,ABS etc.

Choice of bike is like a choice girls, to each his own.

You have a good budget to start with, you may want to spend the entire budget on bike, or then you can go for one that fits 75% of available kitty and then use the rest to customize the ride or use performance parts if you are that kind of person.

                  Explore the options!

Please don't go by CC numbers when the class of the bike is different. See a Ninja 300 is actually lower cc but it will eat the 350cc for breakfast, lunch and dinner (I don't want to start a iron vs plastic war please).

Try the TNT25 in that case. It has generous pillion seating.

Or if you are lucky they might launch a CBR300R. There are some bikes launched in the Auto Expo which might pique your interest.

You can go to the ownership forum and understand the maintenance costs for each bike from there.
