Hey guys, I plan to buy mid range sports bike (may be 300 - 700cc) but the problem for me is my height. I am 5'3. I used to have RE C500 in which I had custom seat, so never faced problem. Now I sold and changing. I am going to try all possible options but before that I thought let me try here for recommendations specially from people who have gone through this
I have a Benelli TNT 300. One of my colleague who is 5 3" wanted to sit on the bike for a snap. With both of his feet placed on the ground, he could balance the bike on his toes. You can do the same you did with your old bike which is customizing your seat.
But please make sure you take TD. A long TD would be better on both highways and B2B traffic.
Look out for bikes where you feel you can feel safe with feet planted on the ground, you dont want to be tip-toeing in the city traffic and end up loosing balance and fall on somebody else. If I have suggest you, you can opt for good cruisers who seat height is much lesser than the conventional ones,
No offense meant here, if you like cruisers , you can go for then, where Street 750 or the Aquila 650 is a good choice to start with, I am not too sure if Vulcan is on the way here.

I used to be worried about the same issue, I'm 5'5", and I have an RC 390(seat height 820mm). When I was buying it, it was my first bike, and I could reach the ground with my toes only. Don't worry about height, initially, say for the first few days, you will have to get used to the new bike, by which time you'll be a lot more comfortable, and you won't have any issue with this
Since you're 5'3", which is a little lesser than me, and seeing that you want a sports bike, look for a bike with a low seat height, around >800cm. Since I'm very new to biking and have tried out only a few, regarding particular bikes you'll have to ask someone else, but check out the Ninja 300, I can flatfoot it, so I'd say you should have no issues with that(780mm).
Its just a matter of practice, height won't affect it, I learnt it too with my bike
