    Query Approved

Do test ride both the AS200 and the Apache 200 before finalizing.

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Also do keep a portion of your budget for buying a good helmet and some riding gears!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Your upper limit for the budget is very surprising. Top end RTR200 is rumored to cost about 1.15

So wait a bit till the bike hits the showrooms.

Is AS200 a gud choice, and is there any major common drawback in that?
since i have used Apache already twice i am thinking of buying something different that's why i am not having apache 200 in my mind as of now.

AS200 is a good touring machine for that price. I am not sure what would be the On-Road price in Chennai. Do check some ownership threads here at xbhp, you can get a better idea.

Refer the above link. Also, Get yourself some good safety gears, basic stuffs like Good helmet, a riding jacket and a thick shoes for starters. Since you will be touring long distance, these are advisable.

Will you be doing weekend rides with a pillion or without since that would make a huge difference in getting a bike that suits with or without pillion. You do have several options from Gixxer, Hornet, Avenger street(Good city riding and comfort) or Avenger cruise(Amazing Bike a complete VFM, name says it all), AS 200, Apache 200.

Also get a good helmet and a jacket and gloves at least as starter gear for long touring.

You have made a good choice to begin with. Go the the showroom and take a test With the pillion and see if the bike is comfortable and has the right ergonomics upto your expectations!

You should look for the avenger cruse 220 then it has the best comfort for rider and pillion and is the best option vs other bikes since it has a very tried and tested engine along with tried and tested, improved parts vs older generation avengers. You can cruse in this with speeds of 70-110 kmph all day long and the engine won't bother as long as its Maintained properly. Make sure to get the wind shield which is an extra 2,500 rs. Still keeping the price under a lac on road. Take a test ride with your pillion to see the comfort vs other bikes on the list. You will be surprised why avenger wasn't on your list in the first place.

Sure dude i will take a test drive in Avenger as you mentioned. Why that's not in my wishlist means i am interested for a sports kind of bike and since NS200 is not available in chennai i am looking AS200.

sure dude will take test drive within a week. In chennai i have asked couple of bajaj dealers they told AS200 is not available for test drive but AS150 is there.

Hi all, done with the test drive of AS200 yesterday and its very comfortable in ergonomics and perfectly suitable for my height of 5'10.
Have asked about the change of MRF tyres for that and dealer said he will mostly try his best.
I'm from Chennai and asked in KLN bajaj, anna nagar, so anyone from chennai can reply on this...

Guys i need an info, are eurogrips are such a worst thing on AS200?

In response to your visitor message on my profile, I would like to reply that, yes, I indeed am.
However I have done a total of 19 km on it(still have to get the godamn RC, so that I can take it out), so I may not be the best person to give advice.

In response to your helmet query, There seems to be a general consensus that the Studds Shifter is the best sub 2K helmet around, but then, take nobody's word, for each one has his own priorities and preferences.
