Re: How about Used Yamaha SZ-R.... please help.
Yammy's engines last very long time and are very reliable. They are good for more than 1 Lakh Kms without worries.
Cannot comment on the low mileage because it can be caused by many factors (Some people never service their bikes, never oil their chains, or most of all, unknowingly press the rear brake with their foot and then cry that the bike is not giving mileage). So you have to decide this on your own.
Price is a bit more for a bike run for 28k Kms, get it down to 20-22k, and spend the remaining money on servicing the bike and changing the consumables (Brake shoes etc).
Take a trusted mechanic with you and have the bike thoroughly checked, he will be a great help in making an informed decision.
Ask the owner for the service book and check if the services were done on time, this will make sure that the bike was properly taken care of.
Hope this helps.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

It is a very good bike with good handling and excellent or you can say the best low end to mid range performance in 150cc segment which results segment topping in gear acceleration figures. This bike is very reliable and comes with good build quality. Only con you'll have to live with is mileage which will rarely cross 40kmpl mark...Originally posted by rohit_180 View PostIt would be a simple matter to re-jet your carb except for the fact that your carb is a CV type. Constant velocity carbs are great for OEM because emissions are minimized. CV carbs are not very useful for high performance applications. They are difficult to tune at best and non-workable depending on your motor. The basic problem with CV carbs is how it works. Airflow, vacuum, determines slide position. The interaction of the slide spring, slide air holes, diaphram, and butterfly valves can be very delicate. Re-jetting CV carbs is very time consuming.
