  • R15 for a FZ16 worth it?

    Well Guys,

Im 5.11 and i ve had the R15 like close to 8 months... Im facing a strange issue its a BACK PAIN!!! yes i usually ride to office thts like 18kms one side tht makes it a total of 36 kms not much traffic as i take the Ring Road but its getting quite bad as i end up with a lower back pain almost every other day... I dunno whether the riding stance in wrng but i ve tried diff stances and still its not good... Due to this reason im almost contemplating on switching for a FZ with a straight sitting posture this means loosing out on my fav bike

IM looking for suggestions to help me decide:

    1. I travel 36 kms daily
    2. is FZ good for long rides coa i dont wanna end up with back paiuns again?
    3. any other apart from FZ ? P200 or something?
    4. does R15 owners have this back pain problem?

Guys ur inputs would be crucial as im already ont eh verge of givin up my beloved R15

I think R15 is not for commuting and will give back pain on a long term use and its better to get a commuter bike or a cruiser bike I think you should get a bullet or a TB .

Fz is good for long rides, its got upright comfortable seating position and nice wide handle bars for a relaxed ride. But replacing R15 for Fz16... hmmm!!

How tall are you? which city are you from?

Dunno about P220 but I think its ridingposition is similar to a P200. I have had a P200 for about a year before I sold it. I strongly advise you not to go for it. The prone seating position is clearly a problem for you. So don't go for it. P200 is also having a prone seating position - not as much as a R15 but its still going to trouble you imho.

Why not a KZMA ? FZ should be ok I think. There would be no issues about riding 100km a day on that bike.

hi...since you already have a lower back pain and are lookinf for a straight seating posture, then P220 and P200 are out.....the suspension setup is stiff plus the back does take a beating...though i never had any probs with my 200 but then you already are suffering........the Zma or FZ-16 makes good sense...but before buying,do take an extensive ride on these bikes to see if you are absolutely comfy with it.....i guess these two bikes will be your best choice...
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

you can try increasing the height of the clip ons........
this can be done by inserting some hollow pipe like things...and can be done by a local mechanic, cuz tht will be providing very less crouched position....

cuz man giving up a R15 is seriously not a good idea for tht seating position.........
