    Dear XBHP
    My selfy Darshan from Bangaluru.
I am new to the Xbhp family .
Need ur help regrading which bike I need to go for .
I am die hard fan of Royal enfield.
Have confusions either classic 350 or standard 350
While browsing net found so many complaints regarding classic 350
    Such as
    1) first day of delivery it self oil leak in engine
    2) engine noise
    3) can't cross 70 km
    4) service problem vibration so on

This is my first bike . I love my bike more that my girlfriend.
Plz help me to deside which one to go .
And finally would like to thank all XBHP members for accepting me as one of urs.

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Re: What Bike should I go for ?

      Hey Darshan,

      Welcome to xBhp!

I'd recommend you to take good, long test rides (more than once if you'd want to) on both the bikes and observe which one you'd like better.

Also look at the difference in the features and technical specifications which is found online, on xBhp, on RE website etc.

AFAIK, the relaxed, unstressed cruising speeds on both the bikes would be around 70-80kmph

It's a common belief that the quality levels and the servicing at RE isn't very great. Generally, there's no smoke without fire.
But any bike would need good care by the owner.

Go through the ownership threads of both the bikes and make a wise choice 👍

      Peace ✌

        HI,
        Welcome to Xbhp.

If you are a fan of RE just by looking at it. ie. you have never ridden it, never known anyone who owns it, do not know anything about its maintenance. I would suggest you to stay away from it. You will spend every Sunday in a mechanics shop, which honestly is not very royal. cables snapping, oil leak, chain rusting, rust on every nut bolt, mudguard, rattling, vibrations, brake problems, good for nothing authorized service centers are the most common problems.

If this is your first bike, buy something reliable or as any RE fan would say (Buy a Japanese plastic bike or Jap crap). Nothing ever goes wrong with these and you just have to get regular servicing at timely intervals, then fill it and forget it.

If you feel, you need a Bullet because real men ride bullets. No point discussing pros and cons.
Get the one your heart wants.

I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

I would say the contrary. RE Electra was my first bike. I have driven, loved and lived with it. There were no breakdowns in the 25000 run I had with her. Of course it was 2009 CI Electra but I don't know about the new UCEs build quality but based on the look it was not as sturdy as the Bullet I own. Based on my experience the RE is reliable, if you have maintained it well (oil changes in 3k/4 months and lubing and washing 500 kms). I had unplanned 400 kms rides and numerous sub 200 km rides and she behaved like the Queen. Of course, she attracts all the other princesses with her shining chrome jeweled with majestic thump throwing yellow glitters. Good luck with the buying and do let me know if anything else I can help with.

Now, she is going to leave my garage soon.
Mustard Yellow 2013 200NS - Suave Bloke in the town
Retd. Royal Enfield Electra 5S 2009 CI - Best of CIs ever made.
          Giant Talon 0 29er - Rockshox + X5 + Deore + Exilir + Howitzer
Mongoose Tyax Comp - XCM + Deore + Alivio + Draco + Kenda
Trek 4300D Should I say anything about him? He is the Versys of MTBs
          Giant AnyRoad Cyclocross build

Re: What Bike should I go for ?

I would like to drop in a few lines here. Personal opinion, so don't lynch me afterwards.

RE is, on the contrary to the popular belief, a very subtle and trustworthy bike to ride. There are "niggles", but the overall engine and the chassis would hold on for much long than most bikes.
Care, yes, it is needed - for rust since it's all metal.

But, BUT - get this, whether a 500cc mill or a 350 one, if you crave power, you WILL outgrow your bike VERY quickly. Mine is around 1.5 years old and I am already searching for upgrades. Plus a 499CC almost 200 kg bike with a 153mm drum at rear? no thanks.

The Japs have better engines, but lack in two points - the thump and customizability. You can virtually change ANY part of an RE. Tons of after market parts available.

RE's traditionally make less power, so you will have to get used to it.

The choice is yours. If I were you, I'd get a jap in the range. Maybe even the Mahindra Mojo, if I go blind. But RE, naah - except if you get a niche product from them - the Conti 535 or the Himalayan (cause there's no alternative to those in the 2.5L price range).

Hope I did confuse you, even if a teensy bit. LOL.

Ride safe, whatever ride you do get.
Everyone would say to get what your heart wants, but don't let the brain fade away to inconsequential proportions.

                          -cheers,
                          Achyut.

Thanks pal. But I am not interested in mojo because of looks. Even I don't like rear part of RS200.
