  • Need help in choosing a bike

    Hi to all members,
My current ride is a 2009 pulsar150 which have done 43k kms. It undergone lots of work and still running. The milage seems to be around 30-35km only.(trust me i have tested that a lot of times).
my daily office commute is around 15kms and I don't want to spend that much of money for commuting.
I want a used bike for around 10k which it's solely for its milage only around 50kmpl is needed kindly suggest me a good one.
I don't want the looks performance and all other my only concern is the milage.since I got only a little paycheck Kindly suggest me a good one for 10k
(I have planned to keep the pulsar.)
    Thanks in advance.

the options for you would be Splendors and Platinas of the world..that too not really in the best of condition.

For 10k you will probably get very old model bikes. The parts might be tricky for some. A good maintained Hero Honda Glamour might be a good choice. I would not look anything beyond Hero Honda if I were you and mileage was the only thing.
Also if those 15kms are plain straight with no hills or steep climbs even a cycle might do the job and you can get a brand new one for the cost. Plus lots of money saved. Good exercise also for the body. Just an opinion from my side.

Ct100 seems to be the perfect option for you.

But seriously how's the max100r milage
          Anyone has that?
I think that might be in my budget.

For 10k you will get very badly maintained bikes.
You will end up spending 50-100-200 INR every now and then for some silly maintainence that will crop up every now and then. You will be wasting your hard earned money just like that.
Either try to increase your budget by another 10 -15k or trade your pulsar to get a well maintained 100cc bike.
            Good luck!!

I think you have the point.
              But,
I want to keep my ride due to some sentimental reasons.
I have seen boxers and Suzuki max 100R for that budget. Is that worth to buy can I get that already quoted milage?
Anybody having that bike please give me some ideas.
I'm planning to buy in this month end/next month starting.
Also I'm in semi urban place with straight roads only little moderate traffic (no start and stop traffic) easily I can maintain 30-40kmph with minimum braking only.

Increase your budget by 3-4K and get a Splendor/CD Dawn/Libero.
Pardon me but I don't think that buying a second hand Platina/CT 100 would be a good decision for your intended usage.

A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

I think I should wait for the owners of boxer and Suzuki max100 to tell their real milage figures.
BTW libero is a good, one nice choice and thanks again.

Re: Need help in choosing a bike

Check out the Hero's sub 100cc bikes. All will satisfy the mileage criteria, but for that budget, the bike will not be in good condition. and may give you more trouble than peace of mind. I would suggest you to increase the budget by 5k and get a splendor or passion in good condition, so that you can commute trouble free. Stay away from Bajaj, their engines are dead after 30k, had a second hand discover myself, what a waste of money that was, never again.
Anyways All the best for the bike hunt.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

                      I agree with you
The used bajaj bikes are total waste of money.as already said I am having a pulsar 150 with 45k odo.
I'm a sane rider and don't cross above 50kmph.Regularly changing the engine oil,one time cylinder head changed.
Both tyres are well maintained and proper air check.
But can't get a 40kmpl milage figures it's totally frustrating.
Today morning I fill the petrol for RS.60(920ml something).I rode like 20kms now there's only little amount of petrol is left.
Totally horrible experience with bajaj bike.
