Re: R3 or Ninja 300
I'd like to know the specific differences between single & twin cylinder engines. I mean power output will be the same right? A single cylinder bike will have single 296cc engine. While a twin cylinder bike will have two 148cc engines if I'm correct. I wanted to know from an owner what are the specific differences between single & twin cylinder engines. IS IT WORTH THE MONEY?? This is OT for the thread. And more on the lines of a GBD.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostI'd like to know the specific differences between single & twin cylinder engines. However, assume you want to compare between a single cylinder 300 and a 2 cylinder 300, a single will always have more torque and the twin will have more power. The twin would rev higher too. The twin would have less vibes, it will sound better, it will run cooler and smoother, it will be less harmful to the environment w.r.t emissions etc.
The single on the other hand would have more engine braking. (talking in general)
Worth the money you ask? In fact, you get a lot of bike for the money.
I only wish that such bikes come with ABS as standard, rest no complaints from my end.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!

jack_daniels Divya Sharan : The II twin engine sings GP tunes that can never be matched by single cylinder. I have used single cylinder all my life and I want to experience the twins. Worth the money? may be not but when you compare with all single cylinders available, the compromise is huge in terms of quality, ride comfort, heat generation only exception is CBR250, again i have one in my family. Now I feel this totally worth every penny spent.Regards,

That means Things are almost the same on both the sides. Except some insconpicuous but significant luxuries on the twins. I guess one who is stretching his budget can go for the single cylinder & the one who has significant purchasing power will go for the twins.Originally posted by link2arj View Postjack_daniels Divya Sharan : The II twin engine sings GP tunes that can never be matched by single cylinder. But, yeah maybe once you own a twin you probably never go back to a single cylinder bike. I wish KTM brought a twin for the masses @ around 3.00 lac price point. It'll be awesome.
