  • Buying new bike | Please suggest

    Hi expert members,

I m planning to upgrade my motorcyle from pulsar p135 to a 200cc motorcycle.

i have thought of buying pulsar RS200 because of its good looks and good performance

but i have heard that it got some problems like alloy wheel braking, fairing vibrations, heating issue etc etc. so considering this fact should i buy this bike ? or should i go for other motorcycle of 200 cc.please suggest because buying again a new bike will not possible for me.

i will mainly use the bike for daily commuting (30km up+30km down)and occasional weekend trip to hilly areas. please suggest which bike should i go for.any answers will be appreciated.

    thanks

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

RS200 would be a proper upgrade. And since you already own a Bajaj, you will be in familiar territory. You will know how good o bad the service centers are etc etc.
As for the quality, Bajaj quality is improving every passing day. Yes, the plastic and fairing of the RS200 is a bit flimsy and low quality compared to the R15 and CBR, but it is on budget and is cheap with lots of equipment to offer (ABS). Yes the fairing will vibrate a bit but nothing some rubber washers and double sided tape wont fix. Not sure about the cracked rims. The heating issues are normal on new bikes during run in period, it should reduce considerably after first few services.

Bottom line it is value of money product, and gives you bang for buck, if you can spend some more money, there are always more expensive and quality products available.

Take a look at RTR200 as well, if you want a good naked street bike.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

        Hi,

From what I heard and seen Pulsar AS200 is better than RS200 except you wont get ABS option. But also for some reasons Showrooms don't have AS200 with them but you can try. The bike is good has NS engine also the build quality is tad bit better than RS.
Another option is Apache RTR 200 it is very well built (for an Indian Manufacturer) and reviews are great and in ownership experience very few people have faced any issue. But only problem is for some reason getting the color you want and variant you want is a headache.
Since you are saying 200 these are 2 options for current year but if you wait few months New duke 200 will come out in 2017.
There's a very good chance that they will be much refined than current gen Duke.

Also mention what is your max budget ?

        Regards,
        Mohan
