  • Apache 200RTR or Gixxer SF FI

I am planning to buy new bike, I did my research and finalized my decision to RTR200 but then my friend bought Gixxer SF FI and i drove it and that put me dilemma.
I have to wait for 2 months for RTR200 base version having carburetor engine with ramora tyre(for pirelli have to wait more than 3 months and i can't wait more than 2 months). I will mostly use bike for city ride and some weekend drive for about 200kms. My main focus is comfort, light clutch feel and least vibration at any speed. My height is 6.6 feet. I took the TD of RTR200 but still not able to decide between two. Any suggestion is welcomed.

    Query Approved

You are six feet six inches tall! You need to buy the Multistrada Enduro then!
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

I am 6.2 feet tall. For your height 6.6 feet, you have these options: Honda Unicorn, Hornet & Hero Xtreme. Ypu may also try for Royal enfield Thunderbird or Himalayan. But will have reliability issues.

You will feel cramped & uncomfortable other bikes.

I am 5.11. I was considering gixxer but after visiting Suzuki showroom, I felt bike is too small for me. RTR was not launched that time so I bought Pulsar AS200 which fits perfect to my height and requirements.

Thank you for initiating my thread.
There is little bit of mistake done, my height is 5.6 not 6.6...

RTR 200 has got every thing what TVS has. If you are looking for a promising bike go for RTR. It has a racing DNA. And the street fighter look is best. It's a bike which will tempt you to ride it again and again. It is hungry to race on. The exhaust sound, the looks, the engine, the TVS trust its a complete package.

I booked RTR200. There is 2 months waiting period in Bangalore and that really sucks..
I heard that matte color requires more care than normal glossy one.
I want to know should i go for matte or regular glossy color and does matte color is life long or starts fading after 1-2 years?

It might be true for coastal regions, with high moisture and salt content, but in a city like Bangalore, it wont be a thing of concern.

                        Hello Logan [emoji4] .
I got your dilemma. I am too 5.6 and was confused between gixxer sf and RTR200.( my friend bought sf too [emoji12] ).

At gixxer you will be comfortable, though you can manage the RTR with no issue. I have got RTR 200 but you would feel the seat height diff of 780 and 800mm.
Both are good bike but for almost same money with RTR you are getting most value for money with good build.

Regarding availability, try diff dealers and lure them to give total cash ASAP if they confirm the bike.

In the ownership thread only, you can find many examples of people getting bike like that including me [emoji2] .

If planning above trick, check the bike if it was test bike or new one.

                        All the best .

                        Good Day!

Okay, in this case, why not go for Hornet CBS? since RTR200 has 2-3 months waiting.

you have loads of options since your height is 'normal' I would suggest you to avoid Gixxer SF/Fi because you can get much better performing bikes at that price. Instead you can go for Gixxer naked/double disc, which is a value for money.

Other options: RTR180 ABS, Honda Unicorn/Hornet & Hero hunk. All these have a very light clutch, reliable machines. All these will suit you.

I will also go for RTR only....

Can you give me dealer name? The least days with i heard from the dealers was 40 days but review was bad for them.

Does the bike is comfortable enough for long ride?
Did you felt any vibration so far?

                            Thanks

RTR180 has vibration problem and i really don't like the bike having that issue. I can cope up with clutch but not vibration.

And i don't know something in me urging for 200cc...

If RTR200 wouldn't be so budget friendly, my first choice would have for sure Gixxer.

                            But now nothing else..

I bought it from Tristar TVs domlur , on inner ring road koramangla-indiranagar road.

Buying the bike was a good deal, without any hassle, paper work completed same day and I got the bike next day with number and rto registration slip. But [emoji12] booking period was very irritating. Very near to my office and every week I would go and ask if bike is available and they would tell that I will get message .
                              I asked 3 months, every week [emoji2] .

At last I bought the bike which was available at that time by assuring the cash next day ( I guess even they got irritated by my queries ).

Their service centre is good and have 2 aged and experience person serving the customers.

Regarding bike, triple digit speed can be maintained easily and seat is very comfortable(way better than gixxer for long rides ).

I really get confused when people talk about vibration. Haha . need to ride old RTRs (famous for vibration )

You won't feel much engine vibration on handle and foot pegs.
I have ridden gixxer for low speed, if gixxer is 10 RTR200 is somewhere between 8-9.

Please test ride the bike and ho through the ownership thread. You will get better picture than what I said.
                              Decide the ride after test.
